Thread: Top level player allegedly maphacking in CoH2 18 Mar 2021, 14:50 PM
I have found your interjection into these debates to be deeply hypocritical. You were involved in a subjective community process to accuse a player that didn't get detected by Relic Entertainment, you found evidence he (or an account linked to him) was involved on hacking forums, which was used in conjunction with the subjective clip based evidence that had been collected. Here we had a subjective community process to accuse a player that didn't get detected by Relic Entertainment, we found evidence (he played on the pc and account of a player who everyone agrees hacked in replays), which was used in conjunction with the subjective clip/replay based evidence that had been collected. All of your raz clips/replays could have been explained with "game sense bro" in just the same way as ours. Do me a favour, go and watch one of the last 1v1 games Seeking played before the accusations went live. He manhandles a player that goes life and death with everyone. Don't look at my time stamps, put your head in the players and count at the times you go "hmm", then watch any other 1v1 game replay on the ladder and do an equal exercise. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cy2gxRMwuW8 Now I'm willing to accept either of the following two scenarios: 1) Seeking has an innovative gameplay style and incredible game sense that would always have led to suspicion at some point - but you don't agree with the panel of top players, referees, and casters that analysed his play and felt yourself to be in a position of unbiased view so were able to compose a google doc declaring it was mostly chance and game sense. 2) Seeking was hacking either via Fog of War or the minimap (both currently possible) - but you don't agree with the panel of top players, referees, and casters that analysed his play, and felt yourself to be in a position of unbiased view so were able to compose a google doc declaring it was mostly chance and game sense. Which is it? In: Lobby |

Based on publicly available information I the impression that Relic are going through cultural/ procedural/ staff changes at the moment, sometimes when that happens there's teething issues and common sense takes a back seat to risk minimisation. This may explain why the Deadbolt/Satup account are not banned despite the evidence both concrete factual and opinion based being overwhelming from the community. We're living in a different environment to the one when Sturmpanther was the community's representative on these issues, and if we run our own tournaments, we have to shoulder the burden of responsibility and take the risks. Interesting, I think if more hacking comes to light in our community perhaps this is something we can learn from. In: Lobby |

FYI from the ML discord: A_E — Today at 10:23 AM @everyone Two bans, and three apologies ML BANS Seeking - For playing on the Deadbolt account after an initial one tourney ban for boosting on 29th of Jan, Seeking will be temp banned from ML for one year until 1st March 2022. I feel it's in our best interests to have a hard line on this account sharing due to Deadbolt being shown to be map hacking. Seeking is not being perma banned for map hacking as there is no 'smoking gun' evidence that can't be disputed as "game sense" etc. It has clearly been shown that the 100% obvious map hacking was done whist it was Deadbolt playing. Should firm evidence of map hacking be found of Seeking in the future however, obviously this will be revisited. Deadbolt - (Seeking's irl uncle) has been shown to be using hacks in replays that are 100% obvious he is of course therefore banned. APOLOGIES I apologise to Seeking that all attempts were made to not handle this privately; in hindsight they should have been. I selfishly protected myself by ensuring speculation was minimised through transparency but created an unfair process. I'm a firm believer in 'innocent until proven guilty' therefore Seeking shouldn't be known as a map hacker. I will be making a video on this as it’s only fair that it's given equal platform. I apologise to ML players that the procedures in the ML are not robust enough to offer a due process when evidence is reported, we're offering real money to play for here so I feel it's time to get real and iron out our processes and procedures. No point saying "but we're an amateur league" when we're offering real money. The @Referees and I will be working hard to write and vote on procedures that will protect us all in the future. I apologise to the community that I rushed this out and brought this to everyone's attention thinking it was conclusive, however it's now time to deal only with facts and act based on facts In: Lobby |

Well it's been shown that he has lied about the Deadbolt situation originally, then later admitted it. Seeking also agrees that if this was a professional e-sports league he'd be banned already due to the Deadbolt account boosting etc. (then that account later being shown to have map hacked, and Seeking probably played on it after the warning). If anything he has received preferential treatment for this still only being "investigated", there's enough to go off to act decisively. Without even considering whether he himself map hacked or not, which the bulk of evidence still points towards in my opinion. In: Lobby |

I am downgrading my coh2 copy to February era, and will be making full videos from seeking's perspective. If there's map hacking it will be obvious quite frankly. Genuinly when Brosras and Artavik were making these clips it occured to me 100% that they were too short and 720p is too low quality. However I kept quiet because I thought that overall there was enough evidence to go off, and time was of the essence. Now we have people (quite rightly) looking for logical defenses of Seeking, and it's healthy that that happens. But to be frank, if there's map hacking it will be easy to show with proper evidence. That said, different evidence has come to light that Seeking very likely played on the Deadbolt account later than he first admitted and after the temp ban from ML for boosting in January, if this is true we might just keep this nice and tidy and steer this thing away from accusations of map hacking. I have PM'd Seeking to this effect yesterday and am still awaiting a response. Again to reiterate this only has anything to do with Master League tournaments at present, and is just ensuring fair play in the context of community run tournaments for community donated funds. it pretty clear that they are clipping some of these in ways to make them intentionally look worse than they actually are.... I think that's just because some of the people making these clips had no experience in creating evidence for analysis like this. The clips made by aerafiled and myself two people who had experience were as long as possible for maximum context. In: Lobby |

So basically after originally casting doubt on the validity of using replays to spot map hacking, you are now closer to where the rest of us are, it is a very accurate tool for unit positioning and fog of war positioning. but has a very small margin of error that can be used in the defence of very marginal scenarios, and this margin has nothing to do with unit positioning or fog of war. So at this point it doesn't look like it helps Seeking in the pathfinder, ass gren, katyusha clips specifically due to him reacting before the units are visible. Also it would be reasonable to suggest this margin of error is not enough of a defence when there are so many clips from so many replays? Is that a fair assessment of your overall findings in the wider context? In: Lobby |

I'm not going to argue against you in general here, hind sight is 20:20 and it's very easy to pick apart my approach to this minefield, you have a right to your opinion.
The only people that this applies one being Stormless who I genuinely forgot to ask and since apologised to, and a few others who missed the relevant message in the long ass PM chain, it was mentioned though. In: Lobby |

Vac bans from 6 years ago. Are you on drugs? I even have vac in one of my account , because I used cracked mw2 maps. Do you have three VAC bans across 12 separate steam accounts? In: Lobby |
