No one uses the reinforce bunker, which is totally overpriced for what it does. (Talking about the OH one). All tanks were firing into yellow cover. I've already been doing the testing for 10+ minutes at that point. There are enough craters in the ground for that to be irrelevant. It takes the Sherman HE about 9 seconds to wipe Volks. Both P4 H and P4J followed up close behind with 13 second wipe times. T/34 took 19 seconds but it's probably realistically about 15-17ish. Cromwell Base/Commander took about 26 seconds in total to wipe the Volks squad. Which means the Cromwell has about half of the Anti infantry power as a P4, and is even lacking behind the much cheaper T/34. This is kind of ridiculous. In: COH2 Balance

Crush doesn't redeem it one bit. It can't substitute for horrid actual performance. Cromwell is one of the hardest mediums to vet up because of its RNG cannon and horrid MG performance. The 50% reload is almost impossible to aquire. Sigh and Accuracy Commander actually decrease the viable anti infantry performance. It will never be as good as a MG upgrade. It's pen profile still can't beat anything higher than a Ost P4 which is the low bar of Axis mediums. In: COH2 Balance

Lend Lease, with the popularity of heavy tank doctrines, is a bit risky but yes it plugs a lot of the early holes in the doctrine with the assault sections. Now only if Tank Hunter sections were bundled as an upgrade too. The best adaption of the British meta I've seen by spectating ladder game and casts is: Tatical support or Vanguard operations. Tatical support grants dirt cheap AT guns and Mortars and skillplane call ins later. Vanguard support grands commandos and croc in the same doctrine alberit at a massive cost. It also has a skillplane callin that can actually match Axis skillplanes. In: COH2 Balance

It comes much earlier: -20 + 30 + 15 + 60 = 85 fuel (120 fuel with bolster) Compared to FHT with T1: -20 + 10 + 40 + 20 + 30 = 80 fuel (70 fuel with T1 skip) Compared to T70 with T1: -20 + 10 + 85 + 70 = 145 fuel (150 with T2) If you struggle against FHT you should get bolster a bit later. It's Soviets who should fear the FHT because the gap between the T70 and FHT is a much bigger 3-4 minute gap. I said before: ">t2 into Aec without buying any side tech to boost the only poor ass infantry you have availble then I'd say that situation is unrealistic." Bolster is a requirement vs both Ost and OKW and so is in a lesser extent grenades but for the sake of fuel costs let's not mention side tech as that would clearly would be more fuel advantage to the halftrack. (You also should add the M3 clowncar fuel cost to Soviet T1) I've witnessed Expertbaoling go 2 sections > Uc > t2 > engineer start in order to skip bolster for a bit. The most common build right now is 3 sections > Vickers > bolster > Uc or another Is > T2 Holding with sections without bolster in the early game is a well crafted dream. Soviets have a much stronger anti light vehicle game with access to > At rifles Penals, Guards infantry, Conscrip Oorah Snares, calling light at gun, ealier mine placement timeframe. The t70 also acts as anti infantry shock unit and not as a true light vehicle counter. Please do tell me what anti light options Brits have that's plentiful. In: COH2 Balance

"If I pay fuel for an upgrade to mainline infantry they shouldn't still suck Make bolster free with an 40 fuel platoon if you want them to suck that badly The ostheer vs brit matchup is problematic You have the grens being in comparison Good out of cover So they can flank the slow to setup vickers The slightly quicker mg42 is not going to be effectively flankable by a unit that treats grey cover like red Ostheer has easy access to a snare which the Brits do not the AEC is great but so are tellers and Paks. And the vision on the 222 is incredible. Brits are forced into the AEC to counter a cheap 222 Which drags their tech against the already snowbally Ostheer And Brits sniper is still worse since aim time(iirc) Both are weak to snipers and Ostheer gets theirs first and has an advantage in a counter snipe(as small as it is) Everything is uphill until Churchill imo" In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Brits in 1v1 is a joke18 Oct 2019, 03:52 AM Jump back to quoted post17 Oct 2019, 23:57 PMgbem grens are great earlygame... they taper a bit in the lategame since HE rapes grens like no tomorrow... but the 20% DR buff fixes this issue... theyre also quite well balanced with the conscript (aside from the ridiculous sidetechs which need to go)... hence any gren buff therefore requires an equivalent conscript buff to match... tommies on the other hand start out as worse 280mp grenadiers with bonuses when in cover and have a really rough start... eventually they get better when they become 5 man... but theyre still in a pickle in most engagements unless the tommies are in cover.... It's quite interesting how this could have been balanced by pushing 5man into the end of T2 transitioning to T3 by making it locked behind either AEC tech or Bofors. Soviets are kind of doing that now with the whole 7thman thing. That would have been a good fix to 5man britblobs but I guess it's good to fuck up the entire mainline of a faction and leave it at that. In: COH2 Balance

If you want infantry that suffers for no reason, have a look at Grens. But finally, the brits have no counter to Lvs aside from the AEC? By that you mean the single best counter to Lvs in the entire game? My heart is breaking for having such pitiful options to deal with light vehicles. Cromwell has the worst performance vs infantry out of all of the medium tanks. Don't make this a whine about Grens thread, they at least have options and tatical flexibilty. False, Puma is the best counter to LV in the game. Its range allows it to alpha target the AEC and win in trade engagements. The puma is also backed up by a mulititude of mainlines with snares and a light vehicle combo that can drive off infantry very well. And if you're about to say but but but OST. Ost has superior light vehicle timing while AEC comes around the time of a T70. There's a lot a flame halftrack can do within that time frame. Soviets and USF at least have some Soft AT options. What does the British faction have besides the tank hunters I mentioned. Before you say but but but you can just >t2 into Aec without buying any side tech to boost the only poor ass infantry you have availble then I'd say that situation is unrealistic. Can you say that the Brits have such a promising combo non-doctrinally? I'm curious on how you will respond. In: COH2 Balance
