Apparently half the the forum members so far think that a unit that is rarely used is "perfectly fine." Just shows what kind of people dominate this forum.
So you were fishing for people who shared idea of brum being up and now you are refering majority of people that thinked diffirently in quite judging manner? |
Imo they are at least fine. They allow ostheer way to play aggressive early game without being useless later on. Counters to them also exist withallies, with them being able to bully them with early game light vehicles, maxims and vickerses. Usf might struggle a bit early on but once teched and bars avaiable, they can be dealt with. |
Pretty self righteous way on approaching the matter if you ask me |
Recently, i have been using scotts with good effect, but im left wondering where is best time bringing them in?
They do not work well as first tank as they get otherwise hunted by pnz 4s or panthers and they dont exactly help being aggressive. I have ran them way that i get 2-3 of them with jackson, supplementing at with bazookas and additional at gun.
When would be best time to deploy them and with what units? |
its completely dependent on map control and your fuel investments that decide which gets vehicles first, german that took double 222 is likely to not get tank as fast as usf guy who doesnt get light vehicle at all. |
Its really hard to buff unit as specialised as sturmtiger in any sensible way. Shooting through blockers was really cheesy and i dont want to get it back. Statistic way unit is fine with really good durability and reasonable health. |
Apologies, I misinterpreted. At any rate, they don't only have thompsons, they also have BARs and zooks as well as enough slots to scavanage.
Bars are certainly an options, however they are somewhat ineffective for their cost. they could get some passive boost with rangers and paras like bren cmd, but triple bar would be then particurally broken. |
Except rangers are not cqb infantry. They are good out to medium ranges even with the Thompson. Ass grens and ass engies are cqb infantry as they lack dps out at range. Ass engies ALSO lack smoke, armour or sprint because it's easier to list the units in the usf roster that DON'T have smoke. Try combined arms, the game is actually built around it.
When did i say that rangers lacking smoke was issue to me? I said i was fine with it |
Rangers ulike other cc oriented units dobt exactly have way of closing in by themselves. They dont have armour or sheer 6 man durability, smokes or sprint. They must use abilities commanders have and im personally fine eith it. I only dislike the lack of choice when it comes to upgrades, only reliable choice being thompsons. |
If cromwell had greater accuracy on move it could help defining its role. But after saying that, it might cause some issues when trying to keep balance between mediums. |
