There are plenty of other variables to play with if it's too strong. The new accuracy can stay as long as the vet bonus accuracy is removed. Two SU-76ms have a higher damage output than one SU-85, but lack self-spotting and their penetration drops off once you go above an Ostheer P4. You could play with their range and fire rate if they're too effective versus Ostheer T3, but I see nothing wrong with a low performance variance in a reactive counter unit. The barrage gets a massive buff with veterancy becoming superior to that of zis and with changes to mortars it is actually very effective. This unis have 1.5 kill radius compare to 0 mortars have that increase even more with veterancy. Keep in mind that the unit has extremely low XP value and vet very fast. Su-76 do not lack self-spotting they have tracking. Again watch the replay. The accuracy is simply too high while penetration remains high. Even with lower accuracy the unit would hardly miss due to collision hits. In: COH2 Balance

But you scratch those and it's fine imho. I'd like to see similar performance on the StuG (which is in direct competition with its respective medium) but I see no problem with the SU-76m being reliable. If it's too effective, I'd tone down the fire rate before handing its performance over to the random number gods. Coh is based on RNG +100% chance to score a hit at max range is goes against the games design and is simply not necessary. Else one has to lower penetration more or the unit will again be spammed. Its casemate design makes it suck against lights (which'll just circle-strafe it) and it's too small to fight heavies. Su-76 does not need 100% chance to hit PzIV at range 60 (max) to be good. Accuracy that is so high is simply broken. You can watch this replay and debate SU-76 performance with Frost. In many cases Soviet unit have very powerful vet bonuses and if one buff their base stats one also has to nerf their veterancy bonuses. In: COH2 Balance

With new accuracy values at vet 2 Su-76 has 0.05/0.04/0.0375 0.065/0.052/0.04875 which translates 100% chance to hit a PzIV at range 60 which is simply too high. Chance to hit and penetrate a Ostheer PzIV at that range would be 89%. The unit must simply be balanced at all vet levels. In: COH2 Balance

So bad.... Conscripts are simply not that bad. On another note at first glance I don't like the changes to conscripts and I will once more suggest the following changes: Conscripts target size to 1 Conscript vet 1 ability "hit the ground" scales with veterancy Remove ourah molotov replaced by normal grenade increase range of At grenade if they need anything else xp value reduction 3% for every building +11 for all 4 for a total of 20%. It's okay for doctrinal units to be better than stock units and force specific counters. Easy8 is a great tank in poor commander. From a "commander design point of view" creating a equally tough medium in a better commander will simply riflemen company even less attractive. I also compared the new Sherman with doctrinal Panzer H and it superior to it although cheaper. From a balance point of view the unit must be compared with benchmark which is OSther PzIV. Not really because it superior to Ostheer PzIV and it will beat it 1vs1. In addition with Smoke and WP shell it can counter ATGs forcing Ostheer player to go Stug and forcing them to attrition defensive play which can be won with the Calliope. M4 vs PzIV Ostheer 55%/67%/78% OKW 100 43%/51%/60 PzIV vs M4 upgraded 51%/55%/65% The Sherman has far better chance to penetrate than Ostheer PzIV, if you take into account moving accuracy is far better AT. Jump back to quoted post19 Apr 2019, 08:59 AMSander93 M4 with dozer for 40mp / 30fu would cost the same as Easy 8 with same armor and effective HP while being slower and being (a lot) worse at AT, but having a bit better AI instead. The comparison of dozer with Easy8 is completely irrelevant, compared with the new Sherman the Dozer is also less desirable. Not only the new Sherman comes earlier and it as durable but the new Sherman is a good in AI if not better with WP shell and far superior in AT. There is absolutely no reason from diversity point of view or balance point of view to buff the dozer blades and there many reason against it. If one want to see more medium tanks used by USF one has to simply lower the efficiency of the M36 vs mediums. If one want a tougher tank for the Commander one has to only move the dozer to this Commander. In: COH2 Balance
