Also it doesn't matter what you or I think, you have an idea and you implement it, right? But people have different ideas and they are bound to use them as cheap and expandable troops since they will probably have rifles at the least and be a 6 man squad and will probably also complain that they are lacking. So again, sorely have a unit meant to merge and nothing else seems like a waste of potential and a commander slot, not to mention an ability. I doubt people use recoup loses, and recoup loses does no reinforce your troops in the battle field. This ability would. In: COH2 Gameplay

So yeah I say add a cost to the paratrooper ppsh and give the unit some ability to make it more desirable. Airborne guards are one of the strongest infiltration units in game at movement. At spawn they have much more punch then ST, Partisan and infiltration Commandos so there is no need to be any stronger. After the initial spawn they meant to upgrade with LMGs. In: COH2 Balance

You seem to have missed the point of these units. These unit would not have to role of cannon fodder but the role of reinforcing squads that have suffer casualties via merge. In: COH2 Gameplay

It was an odd duck back then, able to nuke infantry every 10 seconds but could lose a duel with a p4 due to its pen. If I recall that was before range dependant pen as well eh? (damn this game has come a long way) so it could be tried again and better tuned now that it's aoe has been made more balanced and heavies are not unlimited and now tied to tech. Not sure its necessary at all to do so but the game has changed so much since then that it didn't work then doesn't mean it wont work now. That is true, on other hand that would mean one would have to use the IS-2 with hold fire and move, fire, backpedal for 9 seconds, rinse and repeat and a doubt that would something player would like. Anyway this thread is about KT and not IS-2. The KT seems a bit expensive compared to other Super heavies that currently seem to be used allot, since it has both a higher tech cost and higher price. It only advantage seems to it does not take a slot. In: COH2 Balance

And Conscripts there's nothing more to do with since they get weapon upgrades and support abilities through a lot of doctrines. My opinion is that they're better off just being replaced by entirely different things to be honest. Simplest thing for the Ostheer is the standard Osttruppen call in, not sure about the Soviets tho. I was probably not clear enough: The ability instead of returning normal ostturppen and normal conscripts it would return a new type of squad that would be able to merge but nor reinforce. They could use Conscript/VG models with target size of 1. The idea behind it is that these troops would be used to reinforce front-line troops, one could even add a bit of heal into merging, without actually getting more normal squads. In: COH2 Gameplay
