Simply removing vet bonus is a mistake. Unit should be balance in all vet level and removing vet bonuses would leave these units is UP performance like mortars currently have.
If these units fire too frequently one could lower CD vet bonus or add other bonuses as lower arc/faster projectile speed, faster reload/aim times, acceleration, 20-40 HP.
If the issue is the damage this vehicles do one could replace the HE barrage with incendiary one and make the HE come with veterancy or even add MU cost.
Turning shreck into bazooka is bad idea especially since the main problem with lights is the T-70. One should actually tone down the T-70 and especially it ability for wipe on retreat. Or one could increase the target size of the T-70 insttead.
It is an improvement which I had pointed it is need year ago and similar change should happen to tank traps that should only provide yellow cover that should also be more resistant to ballistic weapons.
Imo they should actually be removed from mainline infatry and moved to engineers and other support units increasing units diversity.
If one want to avoid one volley wipes one should proably to limit the number of entities killed since it would be more consistent than reducing damage.
Doubt that Relic would agree on removing such a feature from okw.
Even if Relic agree it would do little to improve the game and they might as well remove the ability of OKW being placed out side base and adjust cost and HP to mach other base buildings.
If there is a problem in 1vs1 game that has to do with map and not the truck.
Speaking of Fortified Armor, the doctrine's description is all over the place, mentioning spotting scopes and having awful typos. If any changes are made to super heavy TD doctrines on either side it would be great to see their descriptions tidied up.
there is another thread for issue like this pls post it there
Flammenhetzer definitely needs to come earlier I agree. Yes to earlier Obers as well, feeling a big gap where your volks really are not matching up to LMG toting hordes of vet2/3 inf even at vet III+
Whilst the average player isn't going to make good use of an early JP4, good players would - this is a very deadly TD to have so early. It would by far come out the earliest out of contemporaries such as the SU-85.
Ober will come later with this suggestions, lmg ober will come earlier.
The thread is titled "Should doctrinal units/upgrades be superior?", and this is my interpretation of when it is done well and when it's been done less well. I don't know how you value commanders, but I don't think they should be the make or break of a game, and they should certainly not be braindead better options than given in the regular tech tree, in my opinion.
Imo commanders should be of equal power level. That power level could be different from faction to faction but I would agree that "make or break" power level would not be a good choice.
As for unit/abilities, one can have unit/abilities that add different options to the faction but if the unit/ability is more of the same one has little room to make the ability viable. Making a doctrinal option superior to the stock might be a "braindead" option but some times imo it simply necessary.
As long the the commanders are of similar power level I do not think that this should be an issue.
