Thread: Volks and Pfs suggestions7 Oct 2019, 15:46 PM What they should change about Pfusi's imo: - Move 10% of the RA bonus at vet 3 to vet 1, like Volks. Vet 0 Pfusi's are worse than Volks, but vet 1 Pfusi's are allot worse than Volks. - Make the Volksgrenadier accuracy bulletin work for them, like how the Gren bulletin works for Osttruppen. Without it vet 0 Pfusi's have worse dps at every range compared to vet 0 Volks. It sounds like a small detail, but consider the following: The accuracy bulletin scales with veterancy, where it goes from 3% to 4,2%. Your opponent will most likely use the accuracy bulletin himself, which means there's already a 6% difference between what extra accuracy you could have had and what your opponent has. ~8% difference with veterancy. Look at the best players and you'Il see they don't make more than 1, just for the snare (and probably Schrecks later on). These small changes might make them viable enough to get 2 at the start with support of 1-2 Volks for sandbags. In: COH2 Balance

It being combined with camouflage makes it even worse, because you can't even pick them off at range with vehicles until spotted. They have such excellent AI performance; once upgraded they're equal to Pgrens at low/mid range and much better than G43 Pgrens at long range. Because the mp40s are already awesome especially with smoke nades and tactical assault or whatever its called. The MP40's are indeed very strong at their 2 CP arrival. It's just that G43 Storms can pick engagements at any range (and probably win) and makes them easier to control if you have multiple squads. You could always keep the G43 upgrade for later and focus on getting Gren LMG's/G43's and Pgren Schrecks first. In: Ostheer Strategies

Seems pretty close in terms of timing especially if you've been getting some bleed early game (which I guess you shouldn't with double 42s and only 2 grens). I think I played jove once and (got wrecked when) he used an opening like this. The Pak does come out in time against the Stuart, but you might you have to upgrade one of the Panzergrenadiers with Schrecks to defend against all the light vehicle pressure. I prefer having different types of AT, like Schrecks/222/Pak combo, instead of relying on a single type of unit for AT. Against UKF you might as well skip T2 and focus fully on infantry (or only get a pak40 at most). The AEC is not that good against your infantry and with the nerf to Tommies you don't really have to make a 222 or fht to do damage anymore. I'd recommend 1 PGren into G43 Storms, because UKF tends to do bad against camoed units. The Pgren comes around 1-1,5 CP and can be upgraded with Schrecks later on the line. Do mind you might have to backtech if you suspect a quad halftrack or Valentine. In: Ostheer Strategies

I threaten close combat with the officer by moving it closer to the enemy and when focus fire switches to it, pop it and put the officer in cover while the real damage dealers are unmolested. If focus fire switches back, just keep marching the officer forward. Well you could be using those 25 munitions on the aura buff instead. For me it never felt like it did much, it generally doesn't make the squad win against squads it would already lose to, you go from 0,7 RA to 0,56 RA at vet 3 which is not the most noticable bonus. your way of using it sounds interesting however, I will try it sometime. Thread: sturm officer 5 Oct 2019, 19:42 PM Jump back to quoted post5 Oct 2019, 19:29 PMStug life the commissar has an AOE mass pin and retreat and healing Yeah, the Artillery Field Officer also has useful abilities that are not directly combat related, like: - Free smoke barrage. - Cheap 40 munition mortar barrage. - Ability to let artillery units refire. - Diversion (kinda bad). But in the meantime it also offers a strong buff for 25 munitions: - 15-25% higher accuracy for nearby infantry (with good non-doctrinal Pgrens to make use of it). - 13-25% less reload for nearby tanks (hard to use, but it's there if you ever find the opportunity). Meanwhile the Commissar also has good non-combat related abilities as you mentioned and is a more efficient fighting squad (why I suggest lower reinforcement for AFO/Sturm), but the buffs are pretty lackluster. While free, you don't have true elite infantry to use it on, they have drawbacks and only affect a single squad. Replacing the abilities with something like a -25% RA aura or the Sturm Offizier's "Target Them" would make NKVD a slightly more valid doctrine. In: COH2 Balance
