Point is, there are are a lot more relevant stats and components at work here. I agree but if you look at those they are so close to each other that it's not really all that important - I just wanted to show the really big stuff like their ability to penetrate each other and AOE vs. infantry. If someone wants to argue that Cromwell's slightly better speed or turret rotation makes it as as over the top good as OP suggests then by all means... The point is that Cromwell has had so many nerfs since Brits launch that it's balanced now. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: best time to upgrade sweeper?23 Jun 2017, 13:47 PM Luvnest pretty much nailed it as you'd expect from someone of his caliber. Soviets in particular you always want a sweeper squad early because at higher levels you're almost guaranteed to see Demos - I would add that you want to be particularly cautious around VPs and Fuel points because of their high traffic nature. Personally, I always sweep my cut-off after a mass retreat if it gets decapped as well: some players like to mine that as well since some players will try to blob their way out of their base. If you want to up your game consider using Demos as USF and Brits (very few people expect Ass Engi/Commando Demos and you can get a quick advantage off those cheesey wipes) In: Strategy Desk
Thread: How tf do you use fighting positions?21 Jun 2017, 14:21 PM MG Fighting Positions are okay if they are built early to lockdown a VP, choke point, or very defensively to cover a cut-off that's being harassed often. If anything they can be built to force your opponent's hand in their build order. Otherwise they are too fragile to be built late unless your are in one of those last minute VP struggle games and desperately need to protect a VP from lone squad decaps. Sometimes you can build them as bait and place a few mines in the area/ on approach and when they rush in a tank to take care of the FP they'll hit your mine and be screwed. In: US Forces Strategies
Thread: Does anyone ever tech all tiers?21 Jun 2017, 13:58 PM I've recently started going LT -> Captain and have been enjoying it as I've recently fallen in love with the .50 Cal. Generally I've been forgoing light vehicles unless I'm crushing it early and want extra pressure to push my advantage. Versus OKW if I see a Battlegroup I'll sometimes skip Captain and just backtech for AT Guns if I need it later. Generally I try to play it safe and float 100~ Munis for Bazookas and an early-ish Weapon Rack to cover myself from light vehicles or Call-ins. If you do go for Armor Company (or stall for Pershing) the major benefit is that you can unlock grenades and weapon racks earlier with no pressure to rush for Major Tech and gain the infantry advantage and map control earlier. I mostly just think that going LT first gives you such an AI advantage that it improves your chances of snowballing (especially if it's a map with a dominant garrison(s) that you can fully utilize .50 Cals in. ) which is why I why I agree with Sturmpanther and have mostly been utilizing that strategy. Thread: Bofors + Cancer counter19 Jun 2017, 14:36 PM I find that the most important thing with countering Emplacement Spam is to realize that no matter what you do you won't ever be able to clear them away easily and they must be tackled in two phases 1) Force the Brace 2) Prepare the follow-up Many players make the mistake of a one dimensional counter approach (E.g 2 Mortars ) but Brace and Repair almost always outpaces this. For this reason you need to have a follow-up ready (such as any of Josh's suggestions). The key is that you wait until brace wears off and THEN attack with the Follow-up so that the Brit has the least amount of time to force off the second wave. You just have to be patient and persistent with your pressure (Try Shift Queueing Mortar attack ground after barrage). I love Mechanized for dealing with Sim City (spotting scopes + LeFH helps SO much). Also keep in mind that heavy Bofors and Emplacement Play is very immobile and depending on the map you can sometimes play around it and just harass cut-offs or fuel points to buy yourself enough time to get proper counters out. He then got a halftrack to support his conscripts with and allow them to reinforce on the field. He then moved into t34s. Can't recall his commander, might visit his Twitch channel and see his previous streams. I believe it was two nights ago. Thanks, it was an interesting watch. He used Guard Combined (mostly just for PPSH) - it was on Caen so PPSH Cons are always worth going for there. I've always liked PPSH Cons but the selection of Commanders with them is only so-so though I'm becoming fond of Reserve Army for that purpose in addition to the AT Party-sans. In: Red Army Strategies
