Thread: Should T-34-85 be non doctrinal?23 Nov 2015, 03:47 AM +1 on AustralianMagic's idea to replace 85 with Double '74 call-in. Either that or I suppose adding an "Upgun" upgrade to 74 that allows you to upgrade to 85 for a Muni and/or Fuel cost would suffice as well. For balance reasons it might be better to just upgrade the gun and not add extra HP so that the stock -85 commanders remain special. In: COH2 Gameplay

I used to get frustrated wit it because it's so squishy and felt like a waste of MP but you can actually build it fairly far back from the front lines and still get the garrison bonus from it's aura. Volks now have two grenades, one incendiary and one normal fragmentation grenade. This in combination with the shreck package is just overkill to be honest. I suggest removing the normal stielhand grenade when shrecks are upgraded, thus insuring a shreck squad can't use the stick grenade and thus balancing it out further. I suppose another idea would be to either include the Incendiary Grenade as part of the Combat Package (Special grenades made sense thematically as part of a "combat package"). Or just follow the common suggestion of moving Incendiaries to Strums. With their newly reduced cost they are even easier to build 2-3 of for anti garrison role. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: First impressions about the future OKW rework19 Nov 2015, 19:23 PM Kubel capping would make more sense if it worked like Soviet Vet 1 ability and was a "Capping Mode" that you switched too. Should be Vet 0 because Kubel still has limited timeframe of usefulness but at least it evens the field a bit. Either that or capping requires you to "deploy" or something that has a delay. I tend to agree with Dullahan that Kubel's high mobility makes cutting off on some maps a bit too easy. In: OKW Strategies
Thread: December Patch British19 Nov 2015, 15:34 PM I've never really understood why people say that "British sniper counters its own counter". The aim time on critical shot is rather substantial AND it costs Muni. The Critical shot also doesn't 1 shot 222 or anything (sure it makes it easy pickings for 6 Pounder but combined arms should be rewarded). At most it just prevents someone from diving a 222 to go after a sniper which is fair counterplay IMO. I agree that eliminating engine critical on penetrating regular shots makes sense but Vet 1 Critical shot is a bit much. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Balance Preview Patchnotes19 Nov 2015, 04:39 AM Played a few rounds as OKW vs. Expert AI just now. (Version 1) First impression is I really like the new OKW tech layout and agree with the Version 2 changes as the 40 fuel start vehicle timing was waaaay too fast. 100% Munitions might still be a bit too much even with 90 Muni shreks. It feels a bit too easy to spam G43 Panzerfusis and LMG Obers with all the added Munitions. I also feel like Kubels need 5 fuel as well to prevent salvage abuse and super harassment. (On some maps its just way too easy to decap cutoffs with Kubel speed it feels like) They also beat Rifleman and Tommies 1vs1 a bit too easily in the early game since they both have no snares early on or AT. Not to mention that 210 MP is pretty damn cheap given its DPS AND ability to cap. I feel like their Rear armor should be reduced as well... why should Kubel get special snowflake armor that prevents flanking from rear? (Far as I know all other light vehicles have lower rear armor) Still, I do still like the Kubel change a lot - it gives OKW that early game aggression that its supposed to have... it just feels a tad cheesy right now. On a side note RIP Anvil I really don't see why anyone would go Anvil now as Comet is such a better deal. :/ In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Riflemen Vet breaks balance (with comparisons)16 Nov 2015, 04:41 AM So Rifleman -43% + Grenadier +40% creates a net of -3% Vs. Grenadier -23% + Rifleman 30% creates a net of +7% (although I believe Grenadier has a native -7% at Vet 0 if I'm not mistaken) so... Even. Does seem that bad... or am I missing something here? Now I'll admit that Rifleman Vet3 places Vet 0/1 Grens at a pretty bad disadvantage but squad preservation should be rewarded and Vet 0/1 squads will struggle versus any Vet 3 squad. In: Lobby
