Thread: Does suppression need a buff10 Nov 2015, 20:57 PM +1 To LMGs being the problem (or at least a part of it). LMGs seem to have a high probability of lasering down the gunner leading to OPs description. Maybe use target tables to reduce/eliminate the 25% recc. accuracy boost from LMGS? I don't think buffing suppression is the answer as I fear it would place too much early game emphasis on MG42s and/or Maxim spam. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Unofficial OKW Redesign Thread8 Nov 2015, 00:17 AM I feel like a big problem with OKW is that Volks are kinda trashy and OKW's tendency to MP float just promotes Volk spam. What if we changed Volks to have an individual squad "Bolster Squad" type update that costs MP and would upgrade Volks combat effectiveness in some manner (6th squad member, better AI, whatever doesn't break balance). This could be locked behind 1 truck being placed and/or prevents shrek upgrade if needed. This would help makes Volks better while addressing Volks spam. I like the idea of upgrading Volks into a ghetto MG34 too as an alternative to swapping Kubel. What if it was a Muni cost and maybe had a smaller weapon arc (maybe make them function closer to a maxim to promote the whole "aggressive faction" flavor?) PS Let's please avoid posts that just say "These ideas suck" at the very least offer your opinion on why they wouldn't work or offer your own ideas. In: COH2 Gameplay

En Masse they shouldn't be ignored for at least giving PZ4s something to think about - if the Axis player is being really aggressive and driving into your lines its pretty easy to get rear shots off on them. Button vehicle is really really good and one of my favorite abilities that is frankly underused IMO. Great for either "pinning" tanks to finish them off or allowing your own tanks to escape. True, but AT partisans are more of a hardcounter with basically no AI - Guards give you a more all-rounder unit which situationally can be better. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Volksgrenadiers / Flame grenades / shreck spam6 Nov 2015, 03:15 AM Ahhh now I remember why I don't play 4v4. Back on topic, I hate to just say "L2P" but this does reek of L2P. If you're at the point where an OKW player has 5+ high vet Volks with Shreks then that means that something happened earlier in the match that resulted in the OKW player getting enough of an advantage to get to that point. Late game SS just proves you got crushed - now how or why. Furthermore if an OKW player is going heavy on shreks then you definitely need to screen your tanks with infantry or else of course they are going to get shreked down. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Petition to give OKW a non-doctrinal MG5 Nov 2015, 20:00 PM I'm kind of 50/50. It's pretty undeniable that OKW is severely lacking in 1v1. The question is why and what is the most appropriate/best for balance fit. Relic wants OKW to be good early game-aggressive faction: will a stock MG-34 fix that? I don't think so (although it would be a very nice quality of life addition to the OKW army). IMO it wouldn't really break the balance either seeing as how its not like the MG34 commanders utterly dominate right now. From my own experience OKW struggles more due to Volks being too easy to push around by other mainline infantry and as Antilles said the Flak HT being pretty unviable to open with nowadays. Furthermore, you can only be aggressive with Kubels with a well executed early fuel/cut-off rush - which is more the exception than the rule. I think tweaking Volks/Mechanized Regiment/Kubel in general would be closer to giving OKW the flavor that relic intends but a stock HMG certainly wouldn't hurt. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: JU-87 AT Strafe Loiter is broken30 Oct 2015, 14:31 PM Meanwhile the Soviet IL-2 strafe sits and cries in the corner. TBH I haven't used it much since they changed it to 2 planes... which I think might be part of the problem since even though they lowered the damage there are now potentially 2 targets that are getting hit. Though it's less RNG-y as far as CAS suddenly exploding your Jacksons, etc. In: COH2 Balance
