this is an opportunity to fix something thats broken, id much sooner that and retain diversity than simply tack another meh ability in its place.
it has to potential to be decent, it just need to be consistent and sped up a tad
But it isn't a little inconsistent, it's terribly inconsistent. I don't know why. I tried it at all kinds of angles, centered the targeting, offset the targeting both side to side and front to back and never got any sort of consistency. I didn't put a stop watch on it, but think it is at least 1 second slower than frag bombing from Ost. |
Replace it with the incendiary arty strike from Shock Rifle.
I tried the strafe about 20 times on cheat mod. About half of the time it did almost nothing. One time it wiped a squad. Several times it did about half health damage to a squad. Most of the time, it won't do enough to even force a retreat. It's also really slow.
The incendiary isn't awesome, but at least it works consistently. |
Well, I suppose the argument is that it now significantly outranges Axis indirects (Those that are nondoctrinal, and are an actual threat to it, I mean), and can sit well out of the reach of PAKs and place itself somewhere it is far less able to be dove by tanks, meaning that a VERY deep Mortar Pit is almost like a nondoctrinal howitzer with much better survivability.
I haven't tested the unit myself, nor played against it yet, but I can see how it might be an issue. I think we'll have to see how it all plays out in practice (in teamgames specifically) before any knee-jerk further changes are made. I just hope it doesnt feel too AIDS to play against... though I always go Overwatch against brits anyway, so i can just LEFH it to death if its' too much a problem.
I tried emplacements several times with the new patch. They're still not very good. Most OST will get a MHT and OKW will go Feuerstorm, both of which take down the emplacements quickly even if fortified. The long range barrage has too much scatter and too long of a cooldown to be anything besides situational. It's good for getting the last hit in on a schwerer after you've dropped supremacy or something like that.
I would say that the buffed Centaur feels too good, but it doesn't feel that different from the Ostwind, and neither of those seem to have the impact that a werfer has.
I do miss the dive bomb from Jaeger Armor already, particularly when playing randoms. The strafe isn't too bad, always amusing when people don't watch their stuff after a recon. It kills light vehicles quite well. |
The hot keys for mixed pyrotechnics and medic sections do not show up or work when they are combined. I think the point of moving the barrage hot key was so that it didn't overlap with heal but having both of them not work when multiple squads are selected does not help. |
I really loved reading this. I will play devil's advocate. Why do you want arbitrary number of 125 pop cap? I want 1000 pop cap to capitalize on my flow! What would be your answer?
No, the pop cap should be changed to 131. It is the seventh prime number over 100 and the first one that is the same forwards and back, which would decrease bias against dyslexic players. |
Is this a troll thread?
That would be my guess.
I wish I could salvage them as Ost. It's probably the only MG where I risk running through the arc because it doesn't reliably suppress. I usually just destroy or recrew with Pios and stick in a building, then leave it there until destroyed.
It would be interesting if someone posted the actual stats of this versus the MG42. I think the DPS, setup and breakdown times are about the same, but the suppression and width of arc are much worse. Also, getting more than one usually causes the other side to get a walking stuka or mortars, which limit the useful life. |
MG34 is not OP.
But after OKW get stock MG34 (was doctrinal), OST lost last advantage as axis faction. Everithing OST can, OKW can do it better.
In the team of 3 that I usually play with, I normally am the one that plays OST when we play Axis. Other than a stock 60 range TD, I can't think of any significant advantages to OKW over OST.
I wouldn't call the MG34 OP, but it has a great arc and really good suppression. I don't care that it doesn't get a lot of kills. It used to be a marshmallow thrower but seems well balanced now. |
Nor do I, but it seems to be what the OP is interested in.
But the OP is trying to fix something that isn't broken.
I've read a bunch of these posts, and don't think anything would be an improvement on the live patch. Unit preservation is already rewarded through veterancy. The current system gives a moderate comeback mechanism while still rewarding performance in the early game. I know some people like to bash Relic and/or the balance team, but they've really done a good job with pop cap. Most of us are down to arguing points like whether a Churchill should be 18 or 19, etc, etc.
It would be fun to have a 4v4 automatch mode on wide maps like Steppes where pop cap was 200 and MP income started at 450, but that would need to be something that you could pick when you want that type of chaos. |
The latest version of MakoCELO should not crash on you. SHOULD not
Early versions had less error checking and a couple code issues where strings were converted to numbers and would fail in certain cases because Microsoft.
Version 4.43 has much better error checking. Still has an issue with long steam names but will not crash. Just waiting for any more issues to release 4.44.
You should also be sure to run the ELO button and verify correct values to be sure everything works correctly.

These numbers will vary a lot. So MakoCELO just gets a ball park player LEVEL value from them. They do not have to be exact. but you dont want any ZEROES in there anywhere.
Thanks, I just downloaded it but somehow have 4.40. I'll look for 4.43.

4) On the right side options click FIND TEAM RANKS.
Have you had good luck with this feature? When I enable it, MakoCelo sometimes crashes. Otherwise I like it. |
