why not give it a stationary mode with suppression ? Then it would involve more of a risk
Get introduced to the fortified armor doctrine, while it doesn't give suppression to the ostwind, it does give more range (to all tanks that use it) and has absolutely no risk to it whatsoever
Ostwind has a 37mm gun and cost as mush a T-34/76, being able to damage vehicles is part of its job and not bonus.
I can't say I agree, ostheer main weakness is the luck of a light tank or light tank counter and the popularity of the doctrinal Puma is very strong indication of this.
Imo the issue with Ostwind has more to with fact that is not that cheaper from PzIV which has good enough AT and far superior vs all type of vehicles.
Imo the issue with OKW AAHT has more to do with damage it does and less with its suppression speed. I personally would test two firing modes one that did damage and one that suppressed but did less damage.

No light tank counter? best AT gun in the game? longest mainline snare range? elite infantry AT basically 2shots T-70s ON THEIR OWN?
both the flak halftrack and the ostwind do extremely good AI damage at basically all ranges. Does wehrmacht really need to be spoon fed further by giving ostwind random, unneeded buffs? |

Time and time again, USF players in 3v3s prove to be completely and utterly horrible
is their only strat to have a frontline ambulance and blob? then they outright lose early and quit, quit after map control hasn't been achieved (when they don't see the whole tac. map as blue), or quit when the enemy gets rocket arty and kills their whole army

unrelated: I played with urban defense against the okw sturmtiger doctrine on la gleize, it was, despite victory, a very agonizing experience

the M-42 AT gun is kinda trash, the shrapnel range is pathetically small and puts it into direct enemy fire, practically useless in a lot of situations.
The AT's probably fine, although it completely falls apart after actual tanks arrive. I'd say that the shrapnel range should be increased (maybe at even vet or when you build T-4), or the AT gun cost reduced to like 200, I really cant see this being worth 240mp in it's current state.
Unrelated, but the completely competent mod team decided to fix this little AT gun faster than they're fixing the sturmtiger right now, its hilarious |

not only is it completely superior to the su-76, but it can bum rush almost all allied armor. Sure, give it a 130 fuel cost and then give it longer range, but then give actual buffs to the SU-76 |
The Sherman is at least playable. The Crommy is 10 MP less, and has just worse AI, AT, and survivability. After the fat nerfs, its just brutally out-classed for... reasons.
the cromwell is a 90 fuel tank with a 20+ fuel fee for being british
The speed advantage that the cromwell (and any other similar allied tank) has is the speed, so naturally all the axis mediums you'll face have the almost exact same speed, and get a SPEED boost at vet 1, negating the whole advantage you might have.
But i have personally witnessed the doom of a ferdinand user whose army died before the heavy TD went to the frontline, coincidentally my cromwell was fully repaired and would rush behind the ferdinand, chasing it across the map and eventually killing both it and a walking stuka, ending the game. Maybe dissing the poor thing just isn't worth it |
