There are several pet peeves with the Comet that make it slightly annoying to use...
Smoke/phosphorous oftentimes doesnt fire and ability cancels itself (but the ability has much more range than the main gun, and phosphorous kills infantry, so...)
And its grenade muni ability with super small AoE also doesnt work as a result as well.
Target ground vs vehicles will never hit the vehicle.
And the bugged animation from Alpha where the Comet "pens" but doesnt do damage... (Mentioned by Mittens)
The panther should keep better AT and win vs Comet most times, but the Comet has much better AI and abilities instead.
I have noticed that too I think that might be a majority of the problem because it definately sounds like a pen shot but just does 0 dmg that needs fixed bad and the other things mentioned that are buggy with it, i agree it shouldn't outright beat the panther but it should be formidable much more than it is now. |
To me the comet is very lack luster. Yes it has speed that is great but so does the panther, yes it has more AI than panther but it isn't really that great for that and it is not really needed as an AI tank. It needs more pen it can't stand toe to toe with panthers but is more expensive. I don't think asking the comet to be able to pen a panther in the front is too much considering it comes out later and is more expensive. It also takes it forever to turn and doesnt have great acceleration and misses ALL the time especially while on the move. |
AA HT can't stop blobs since the blob only needs to be supported by one at gun and the AT HT strat will be immidiatly shut down, that is why I didn't mention it here, but did so in a previous statement.
As for your statement about USF not needing a suppression platform. This is true, because USF doesn't fight USF. It doesn't need to stop blobs of doom, since it doesn't fight the ones it creates itself, whilst OKW does and now has no suppression platfor apart from AA HT which can be shutdown by a single at gun. Sure it has Schwere Panzer HQ, but that is only situational, anyone can smoke that or simply bypass it and take another route, because there is no other suppression platform on the field when OKW is playing.
I remember how volks use to be when they had super vet although this has not been given back to them but now with there better AI I think you will see no reason for suppression as well as them having two grenades to counter themselves from being suppressed very much the same rifles do now. I fear especially team games it will be back to nothing but volks blobs that can counter anything thanks to there vet that can most of the time let them just ignore having to use cover later on and A moving. Not to mention the suppression plat forms allies have with maybe the exception of the vickers do not really do that great against blobs they do not suppress fast enough.

I get your point, but only one OkW building fires a weapon. And if you lose that your delayed and shit out of luck to anything in that tech. Meanwhile we are talking about motors, supported by bofers, supported by AT guns. Big difference. Not to mention OkW buildings don't press a button and magically become near invincible...
You never have rakatens, liegs, volks supporting your trucks? Okw building don't have to press a button ( that also has a long cool down ) because two molotovs don't destroy it.... or any incendiary barrage, etc I do not even think does any dmg what so ever. Exact opposite for brits. |
Exactly the same can be said about whole friggin OKW faction and yet its here and not going anywhere with their uber sim city tech, in fact that is being supported even more by all the nerfs to things that pose even remote danger to them, regardless of how huge cost they have(talking about off-maps here).
+1, It takes at guns tanks mortars pretty much every thing you have and off map artillery to normally counter or destroy a well placed flak hq. Thanks to there extremely durable fwd reinforce truck they can also react to defend them very quickly.
I think the brit fwd reinforcement point should have a bit more HP. Mainly I think brit emplacements are fine especially with royal engi it is the giving incendiary grenades to volks that is a problem. I remember most axis players saying they did not even ask for them to be on volks, but on sturms. Too many volks always around with the best AT weapon that also counters emplacements with a cheap grenade that two counter a very expensive brit emplacment. Maybe the bofos should have more HP because it should be able to better be used for area denial like the flak hq. Bofors and cent were over nerfed last patch. |

Churchill now costs pretty much the same as a tiger
640 Manpower, 230 fuel for a tiger, Churchill 540/180, 50 fuel difference 60 manpower, so I wouldn't call them the same, also consider you can have more then 1 Churchill on the field at once,
6 pounder the same price as a pak but with worse vet
6 pounder has better ROF I believe and has increased accuracy against vehicles, don't forgot the Zis has the same price so your point?

You must be drunk or have never played brits. Piat is worthless against anything other than super heavies leaving no early/mid game at other than 6 pounder. Wasp was already OVER nerfed as well as the centuar. Mortar pit still hard to protect and bofors over nerfed as well dosen't really scare infantry too much and shrekvolks laugh at centaur and it now.
Base arty is terrible it will never take out an okw truck in one blow, has a long timer and obvious red flare, you must be brain dead not to just move your units away.
Pretty sure obers weapon drop rate is extremely low.
Boys AT rifle should not be in line with PTRS it fills a different role classic a-symetric balance. Brits need it to be better to give them viable early AT.
No reason to nerf IS they have to be in cover greatly increasing there wipeability due to squads being bunched up while in cover and limiting them to a more defensive role instead of an attack role.
Comet needs a slight buff with vet rate toned down. It cannot pen a panther most the time in the front has less armor and missed all the fning time, but cost more and comes much later.

S mines(even one 15 muni strip...)have the biggest AOE of any mine, arguably bigger than a demo explosion.
Unless you have instant reflexes, you can't react to an S Mine on the flanks for example. Your squad will just die.
That's why they have signs. So there's not massive fields of invisible squad wipin mines that only cost 15 mini and 3 seconds to place everywhere.
And before you say BabyRage Soviet mine only 30 muni... Well get over it. That's one little spot compared to a entire pathway that s mines can cover in comparison.

It was already good enough before there is no reason for this. It is really hard when your USF even when you immediately start moving your troops as soon as you here it you first move your rifles and what not then you have to undo majors retreat point then order him to move then undo ambulance heal then move it. I played a game yesterday where I started micro soon as I heard the siren but the AOE is so huge now you can get your regular troops out of the way but its pretty much auto death for ambulance and major. Needs reverted back you can always tell when something has been raised to bullshit levels cause now everyone uses a stukka dive bomb commander. |
