Although I have no proof of what I'm going to say, it's just speculation... IMO if they've done well in British Forces, maybe they're doing another faction now (15 or 18 new units, commanders, their voices and a few sets of skins) what takes 6 months, without background music or maps, only 15/18 new units and I suppose they were good sales with the British, maybe and only maybe, we have this summer another faction and so they can delay AOE4 to next year 2019 and COH3 to 2020. I find it strange that we have had a patch and maps improvements and commuting only to keep the base player two years until 2020.
Either a new faction or single player pack akin to Ardennes Assult could be likely. Relic's 5 year plan and even the updated plan however, never called for a Single Player expansion thus AA was kind of out of the blue outside of the new faction. I feel like they dropped hints of a British themed one but I cant recall where. |

" I love finding that the elegantly simple system design that not only maximizes player experience relative to dev. cost, but is also robust enough to withstand the chaos an open world will throw at it. "

"working as a Designer/Scripter for Character Animation and AI, often paired with programmers, animators and technical artists. I've also served in a production role, creating and carrying out a production plan for two smaller prototype projects at United Front.
I tend to be pretty quick at learning new development tools. I'm self taught in a variety of in-house animation state machines (Dr.V at Rockstar Games and Freeman at United Front Games) and I have experience scripting in C# and developing in Unity."
If hes a Senior Game Designer I'm not sure if that takes the same role as "lead game designer" but also might mean hes closer to the top of the list. |
Are people seriously arguing that and UPGRADE (that costs munitions) is SUPPOSED to be weak and non-threatening?
When the enemy faction has BASELINE UNITS that are ten times more threatening, while your units pose no threat to anyone, ever, the game is a complete farce in terms of design.
This isn't even a balance issue. Balance issues require minor tweaks. The COMPLETE lack of threat from both MP40 Volks and Volksgrenadiers in general is a joke.
Same conclusion as with all other aspects of Axis faction design: Allied units are all hyper threatening to Axis units, but Axis units threaten absolutely no one, ever, under any circumstances.
Must have never seen a potent STG volks blob. Come on guy volks aren't nearly as bad as you are playing them off to be. |

I think the STGs are too good in comparison but yes I would like to see the STGs be worse at close range and Mp40s buffed at close. would be nice |

I will say the added voice lines are giving me a solid coh1 feel. As much as I'd like new content for coh2 Relic has their sights on coh3 and AOE. |
IMO it would have been closer to Planetsides perpetual map control war, or the soulless multiplayer campaign maps in Total War. Or Red Orchestra/Rising Storm.
There's little tangibility to this kinda map. The point of it is to be a content vehicle, but there's got to be the content to deliver.
Good point as well. IMO you'd run out of bulletins eventually but maybe that might have been relived by community made skins and such. Granted no one wants to do things for free but it might have been better to simply ask a few artists to throw in community skins. |
I can see why they scrapped this feature, given how community is obsessed with win ratios and that feature being glorified WL ratio chart without context, people would start bitching about balance the minute it would change from 50:50 to 51:49.
Thats a fair assumption knowing how triggered people get over it. The idea of a diverse and dynamic CoH multiplayer landscape does sorta fall into the missions similar to what are available in World of Tanks as well as Ships. It wouldn't surprise me if they scrapped the mode in order to focus on other projects or to simply work on a new game, granted that screenshot -if I recall correctly- came out in summer 2014 and could have been simply a proof of concept that is slightly similar to coh online but could have been the time they decided to make a new faction insted.
As for the future of CoH3 creating a new dynamic mode like that would give the community some nice goals and reasons to play every month+ or so. Along with the new mode we might have even seen a larger pool of maps or ones that switch in and out as we move across Europe and even north Africa if we look at the most recent survey.

"VP of production and development services at their head office in Brentford, UK" doesn't really mean direct influence on CoH3 but might be on coh as a franchise and how it is handled as an IP. |
i do agree with you the that the unit is almost useless now against half decent players, but before the nerf being able to fire through objects, leaving NO CHANCE for your enemies to react and losing entire squads and tanks was beyond BS, for me it offended worse then demos.
<snip>
^ /thread
Firing through objects and shot blockers are just poor gimmicks and punish good players and can reduce the game to solid cheese. I see the sturmtiger as a unit you can take both ways but only one way. Either its a large AOE damage dealing area denial "back the fuck up gun" that it is now or, its the wanna be brumbar with fast targeting/firing but smaller aoe and damage but quicker reload -similar to AVRE-.
