like the title said, sU-85 deserves some anti infantry buff, if soviet goes t4 and build SU-85, it is competely anti armor unit, has almost zero anti infantry damage, which makes this unit quite less cost efficient, on the other hand, all german tier building tank has both acceptable AT and AI ability, given the fact that soviet is almost impossible transit from T4 to T4 in this patch in 1v1, su-85 deserves some AI buff for its cost, stug is way too cost efficient, its AI and AT both are too good, su-85 just under-performed given the fact of its cost.that is reason why many soviet players would like to save the fuel for IS2 rather than building T4.
It should have AI damage like T34-85, it has its weakness, it just a assault gun, no turrent,, easy to be flank and weak to AT gun,
SU85 derserves some AI ability

while the Su-85 can already luckily snipe an infantry or 2 (once 3!), i'd rather it be good only vs Tanks at this stage. If anything the Su-76 is there to snipe infantry, although it still isn't accurate/reliable enough to do so.
Su85 is meant to be hard countered by panzergrenadiers as well, as a tank destroyer it needs to be supported by anti-infantry units (e.g. HMG) to survive.

The whole idea if you go T4 is to either rely in T1/2 anti if power and or bolster with a doctrine, Shocks, KV8, incendiary arty, IS2 etc.
Su85 is cheap and powerful against tanks. And don't forget Katushkas.

while the german can have two stugs, can both support infantry and tank battle, it can kill infantry and tank quite effectively, and soviet just have one su-85 can kill infantry depends on luck, in one match, my su-85 have zero infantry kill and the other got 12 kills, the relic idea's reduce stug cost and health but increase its AI and AT, okay, do that with su-85 as well, because, you get a Katushkas or su-76 as a choice, you wont get su-85, makes you almost impossible against german armor if you go T1

i rather have su76 more like stug and have its barrage ability changed to more like 82mm precision strike with hang time, etc... I hate relying on ability to access anti infantry power of su76 then wait more than a minute while su76 becomes more or less of a micro drain. it also takes only two hits most of the time before death, which makes it really hard to use in a tight game.

pretty much this, stug is more of infantry supporter than tank killer, SU-85 is specialized , long range tanky destroyer, it shouldnt be taclking troops now aswel. And if u go t4 u should choose doctrine to support ur TD(guards,shocks,ppsh,htd etc.) instead of going well, more armor or whatever

If you were to buff the AI you would have to nerf the AT. It doesnt really need AI imo. What would be better is swapping T70 and SU-76 around, so that you get light at in T3 and some anti infantry / scout tank in T4.

SU-85 is just fine. In 1v1 I always go for T4 + guards. Pz 4 is no threat to me then. But still.. Yesterday I bring SU-85 and it just stood, nothing more cause german player didn't bring on PZ 4.
While that it was shooting inf all the time. Result? 1 unit killed
That is just funny how such big gun can't kill inf but I'm ok with that cause I undersatnd its destiny.

Its about accuracy. You would not be able to swot a fly with a broad sword. Just like you can't hit infantry with a 85mm gun.

There are a ton of doctrinal and non doctrinal ways to deal with infantry, there's absolutely no need for an AI buff to the SU-85.
