Overall i think the su-85 is fine.
What isin't fine is the general unflexibleness of the tier.
Because right now t4 has no reliable anti infantry.
If su-76 performed an adequate anti infantry role it would all be fine

Oh look, it's this thread again. Obersoldaten are fine I think since they're supposed to be the best anti-infantry unit in the game, and they're also historically authentic since Germany had the most elite units in WW2. Allied players also tend to overlook the fact that a lot of the times, Shock Troops beat Obersoldatens but let's not use reasoning and logic. Bars for the USF are also getting a major buff in the next patch which effectively turn American infantry into potent infantry, so nerfing the Obersoldatens(OKW's only line of defence against the Russian and American hordes of infantry) isn't a wise move. Oh please. By 1944 (which OKW is based on) all german "elite" soldiers were either dead or maimed and in hospitals. Especially considering that this is based on the battle of the bulge specifically, AFTER Bagration. There was nothing elite about the german army in 1944. Most were conscripts thrown into the meatgrinder with little training, like everyone else. If anything, ostheer should have better quality troops since they are based of earlier in the war. Obersoldaten really are ridiciluos. For 400mp, they vastly outperform all other elite infantry in the game. Including the 385 fallshirmjaegers, 330 manpower + 75 muni gaurds, 340 manpower PG and even airborne barely compete with them. Soviets are in a forever need of a well-scaling infantry unit. What's new? The PPSH used to make conscripts scale well into the lategame- but with the weapons profile, it doesn't anymore. It makes conscripts occasionaly beat LMG grens , but that's about it. So you are okay with this unit to be completely useless? The jagtiger will now never be able to kill a single sherman, or pretty much any vehicle for that matter. The ISU-152 will still be able to oneshot squads, but will be completely useless againts vehicles. I really don't see how these changes are better than just straight up nerfing the AOE on the isu and removing the ability for the jagtiger to shoot through buildings... And it doesn't need micro and attention. It is simply not possible to hit moving targets. And overall, this will lead to axis being more OP in teamgames, because the sheer OPness of the isu-152 allowed the allies to fight back in big team games, since all of their other options except ISU-152 are inferior to their axis counterparts, it will be even more terrible. The sole purpose of the jagtiger was to pretty much to counter the ISU. Your just fine with tigers/panthers/KTs to win. It's ok though. Eventually relic will realize that this change simply isin't a good idea. In: COH2 Balance |

In previous versions such super heavy long ranged units like Elefant, Jagdtiger and ISU were almost standard units for the huge impact on the game they had. The range nerf was a great first step, but they were still extremely strong. Sorry, but the inability to hit moving targets is simply not a fun change. Reducing the usability of a unit is not the way to balance it. It simply makes the game less fun and overall irritating. Against skilled players this units won't work anymore. They are basically Sturmtigers and even if you have the awareness and timing to know where a unit will be if it's moving that doesn't mean you hit it because the scatter is too high. But overall i am even more worried about allies in team games, the nerf to these units might seem good at first, but the thing that was keeping allies somewhat playable in big team games was the sheer retard OPness of the ISU-152, the rest of their units simply aren't very good. My personal suggestion to the ISU-152 is to drastically nerf it's accuracy againts infantry at ranges more than 40. Something like this ISU-152 at range 60-70 - Barely hits infantry, still hits armor 50-40 - Decent Accuracy 40 and lower would be the range it would be finally capable of squadwiping. Okay, so as you may know, the ISU-152 and jagtiger in the current metagame are absolutely broken. They needed some kind of a fix. However, I feel that this fix is not the way it is supposed to be fixed. First, the whole idea of the patch seemed to be to increase the general responsiveness, usability of units. This was all much needed, and units now feel much more reliable and play is now as a result much more fluid. However, the ISU-152 and jagtiger received some weird changes. Instead of nerfing them in a normal way, relic decided to nerf them in a rather.. unorthodox matter. Instead of nerfing the unit, they completely removed the usability of the unit. It is now impossible to hit moving targets and overall makes these units borderline useless. It's basically removing the ability of direct fire and made it only have "attack ground" I feel that these kind of nerfs go againts the idea of the patch which was to make units feel more responsive. I think a much more simple solution was to simply nerf the accuracy and AOE on the ISU, and removing the ability for the jagtiger to fire through buildings. Discuss. In: COH2 Balance |
