The reason smoke grenades share cool down with normal grenades is that it can be used to frontally attack a hmg.

Because no non soviet combat infantry has weapons or weapon upgrade where SVT would be better option. nerf everything! How come every single idea for "revamp" of allied unit or commanders involve nerfing it to the ground? With already extremely rich assumption there is anything wrong with that particular commander in the first place. Its not. Weapon crates provide additional team synergy, YOU hate the ability, its not "abomination" in any way and there are multiple abilities across multiple factions that work in similar fashion. There is nothing wrong with dshk, but you're now 4th year on your crusade to remove it from the game. Airborne rally points are not better or worse then any other forward retreat point, you're nitpicking and exaggerating here. Airborne guards have no identity crisis, they are potent AI LMG squad, which soviets do not have otherwise. They DO have higher AI DPS then regular guards and have other AI focused perks over them. Not understanding the units very clear role does not mean it does not have one and your suggestions is "elite conscripts". We already have defensive oriented squad in game, it does not require doctrine and fulfills its job just fine. But I do give you one point for the last one, rocket run was overnerfed, it deserves a buff or cost reduction. In: Lobby |

It one or at worst case, two shots ALL infantry units in game with exceptionally high accuracy. It does not need to be long in combat to deliver a blow making a difference. I recommend re-watching casts of last 2v2 tournament, where it completely dominated allied infantry and ATGs if you have doubts about its performance. In: COH2 Balance |

You still have a choice to delay it, you aren't forced into that cost, so delaying factor of side tech, in USF case, is completely optional pre 1st med. If you get it early, rifles will outperform grens and volks regardless of their upgrade of choice, if you delay it to post med tank, then grens and volks will have longer period where their performance is peaked because of tech choice of delaying your own upgrades. You can argue however you want about the value of cost inflation of weapon upgrades for allies, but you can't argue it doesn't inflate units cost at all and is just a matter of timing, that last thing applies exclusively to soviets and their choice to rush 7th man at a cost or delay it and have it unlocked through tech timing later on. Thing is, side tech cost and potential timing of upgrades both factor in units potential strength. And lastly, I never said allied side tech cost is NOT meant to delay tech, just that you need to factor at least part of its cost into units strength, because it directly leads to improving that units performance in an exclusive way aka you do not get any tech benefits other then improvements to infantry.
