Players mentality from the time when bullets from PPSh entered the warp and were gone forever if the range was longer then arms reach. Another reason is, the closer you'll get before opponent retreats, the longer you'll be able to deal dps to retreating squad. And you're reading the graph wrong, its not about no increase below 10 range, its about no DPS drop off up to 10 range. In: COH2 Gameplay

My guess is merging to a veteran squad should always benefit the merging non-vet conscript overall as they should receive the buffs. If they wouldn't be getting vet buffs, there would be no point to even have merge in game. In: COH2 Gameplay

Anything that would help them vet with sweeper would be great idea. And this applies pretty much exclusively for CEs and pios who don't have any rec acc stats, can't have any additional weapons besides sweeper once they go for it and in general are dreadful in combat. RETs, REs, they don't have problems vetting. Spios aren't really normal builder plus they can holster sweeper, so they never were an issue. In: COH2 Gameplay

We've had them in DoW1, it was horrible, dull and felt artificial. It limits BOs, it limits possibilities, it narrows meta even more. There isn't a single up side to hard caps on anything else then strongest units in any RTS and that is how it always was and should be. There are units I don't like to fight against as well, but instead of whining about them, I simply build counter. The more opponent will spam that kind of unit, the harder it will be countered.
