What we are done with is different factions being stronger/weaker at different game stages - that is gone forever and for a good measure. Thread: Conscripts need to be cheaper7 Dec 2018, 20:51 PM Jump back to quoted post7 Dec 2018, 17:13 PMVipper If Soviet are designed for attrition play why do they have access of 2 of the strongest infantry for their time frame (Penal and Guards), one the deadliest light vehicle (T-70) some of the toughest doctrinal tanks like the KV-1 and a TD with one of the best stock guns in the game (SU-85). Because they are designed to not only take attrition, but also inflict it you know. If you think "designed for attrition" means only taking attrition without being able to cause any, I don't think you should be coming anywhere near balance discussions. There are no stock soviet weapons with model focus like gren lmg or powerful AoEs like brummbar. In: COH2 Balance

Ostwind is a AI unit. And you can't ignore its AT is worse then P4, its armor is worse then P4, core infantry supporting it is worse then grens, ATG supporting it is weaker in AT then PaK and so on and so forth. You can't ignore the whole army behind the unit just to push your point through, because its not 1v1 void dueling game. Centaur is very good. Fighting against 4men squads. Ostwind should min. perform as good as Cenaur does. lol and Bofors is simply op, should have same weapon as OKW base. That would me so a massive nerf, even with the suppression buff. But its not fighting just 4 man squads. Its also fighting 5 man squads and 6 man squads too. Cromwell supporting it is much worse then P4 supporting ostwind. Ostwind can perform as good as Centaur, when P4 will perform as bad as Cromwell. And cut the bullshit about boforse, only biggest noobs in game have problems with it and only biggest noobs in game build it. Bofors can have same effeciveness as shwerer, when it'll be free and cost zero pop cap, like shwerer gun. In: COH2 Balance

Ostwind shouldn't be in T3. There is still the Panzer4 and in T2 the 222. 2. Ostwind should be buffed. 3. Counterparts are too strong too. (Looking at T34/76 as AI vehicle) 1. Late game tiers for all factions have 1 generalist, 1 AT and 1 AI vehicle. Ost place in there is more then justified. 2. Maybe, but don't expect it to become ost FHT of med tier. 3. What counterparts? The halftrucks that dies in 2 ATG shots? Centaur, which was nerfed hard and wipes squad of equal size SIX TO TEN SECONDS earlier(and you won't be leaving squads there until death)? Sure, Centaur is still better, but you can't just ignore the fact that Cromwell is a piece of shit tank compared to P4. T34 is NOT counterpart to Ostwind. Centaur, Quad M4, M15 and flak HT are. But, the unit itself is more expensive, the upgrade should increase the damage. But P4 is ok, the T34 is the one simply overperformes. It also gives P4 anti air capabilities. Maybe P4 performance makes ostwind obsolete, eh? In: COH2 Balance

T-34/76 might have higher reload but it start firing faster with veterancy. Actually if one compares to Ostwind T-34/76 cost about the same while being superior against most target that are not planes. So build T34s instead of ostwinds. Oh wait, you are comparing completely different unit archetypes for completely different factions on opposing sides with completely different balancing(one having cheap, weak stuff, other having expensive and better stuff). T34/76 is being stomped by P4, regardless of both being vet0 or vet3, do you also want to address that performance issue? That's stretching and comparing apples to oranges as far as it gets.
