I like to double up on these when I can. Being able to call arty, having fantastic range, decent rate of fire and when teamed up with a Valentine's Observation ability, he has a massive advantage in a Sniper war. Wouldn't change a thing. 6 seconds recloack time. For comparison: Ost sniper 2 secs. Sov sniper 3 secs. Waiting 6 CP and specific doctrine to even stand a chance in sniper duel isn't an option, USF sniper is ost sniper prey, no other way around. Trench I gotta wonder why the heck Relic decided to make this a player owned defense rather than an ambient one. I would have loved to support an ally by building these for them. Mind you, it doesn't last very long but it should at least be comparable to the German trench. On a side note, why did Relic decide it was a bug to let mortars fire from inside one? It has a bloody hole on top! :/ OH! And the American .50 Cal fires from them while lying down instead of setting up properly. Trench costs menpower and can be build outside of owned territories. And german trench is completely free of costs. If anything UKF one should be stronger. In: Lobby
Thread: Brits first impressions (post here)1 Sep 2015, 11:22 AM I'm not. I'll just stick to my experience after playing 2 WEEKS with brits and say that a pair of stugs rips it apart. Churchill MK VII was better armored then Tiger. Relic portrayed it by giving it lower armor and higher HP poll, given all penetrating shots, Churchill can take 3 more then Tiger while having incomparably worse main gun performance. Not as imbalanced as you can think. And PaK43 deals about 25% of its HP unless it uses its smoke or is under influence of command vehicle. In: Lobby

They don't really have penalty out of cover, they just forget how to hold and aim rifles when there isn't at least a tiny bush or twig near them. In cover theirs DPS is barely higher then grens, out of cover its lower. Their LMGs are ~30% worse out of cover then LMG42 and barely comparable in cover. Relic insisted on making tommies expensive, effective infantry, they just forgot about the effective part and believe me, we did reminded them that a lot in alpha. Basically, tommies have equal average performance as grens while having considerably higher costs to build and reinforce. They are NOT cost effective. In: COH2 Balance

Also, Churchill's counters are fast firing at weapons, panther doesn't perform well against it, StuGs hardcounter it so much that its not even funny. Churchill is a slow damage sponge, you hardcounter it with multiple fast firing units, not the big guns. In: Lobby

This line actually applies exclusively to light armor, specifically all the scout cars as light tanks and reinforcement half trucks are still useful late game. And irregulars. And M-42. You said it yourself, its a cannon shot and two rockets. It costs muni to upgrade and even more muni to shoot. It can miss if you move, main cannon also doesn't have 100% accuracy or penetration. Its on a fragile platform with mobility only slightly better then a heavy tank. It have one job, kill tanks, its useless against infantry, single shreck squad can be its undoing because of its hp and mobility. You are seriously comparing it to 5 fuel more expensive mini nuke launcher that with a single shot can obliterate tank and multiple infantry squads with no muni costs, with no warning(you'll get FF shot which will reveal its position before tulips fire), out of los, over shot blockers? For real...? Brits bring heavy AT ordnance into the field, deal with it. In: Lobby
