I totally disagree on t3/4 being useless.
For one it allows u to get earlier essential soviet pressure on Germans long before call ins are available. For me this is worth it's own weight in fuel.
2nd, soviets units, like any army, work best when supporting each other. Don't just rely on only armoured vehicles to defend themselves.
A perfect example of this is using T2, guards and onto a quick T34 and M5. Used as combined arms in a semi defensive way, this can easy hold it's own against T3 Germans.. Long enough for you to throw up a fuel cache and call an ISU to then push them back.
Really sounds like you don't know how to apply and keep pressure on and or how to use units to support each other. t34 are very useful for holding in reserve near maxims and guards and ZiS, they quickly respond to any push from Germans. They are not specialist, but they defo do enough when supported correctly to repel and German assault. |

I get matched Against this guy a lot and he always reaches for the 'get cancer ' type comments. Then if he actually wins it's all gg. Called him out and he says he gets anger issues while playing . I said calm down lol. |

Keeping range when its a large blob of them can be tricky, they always manage to close.
But anyway, Maxims is the way for me atm. Doesnt matter if its grens, pios or PGs, maxims used well, backed by a mortar (i love it with accurate auto fire bulletin) and guards holds off germans pretty well atm. Then you can get an M5 and T34 to help shore up defence, then a short wait for an ISU to get offensive. |

In most circumstances you will find that T34 and cons are not enough along to deal with german armour. Only if youve owned him hard in early game will this be enough.
You will need a ZiS really, or is that what you meant?

I do alright with M3s against normal play, but blobs of pios are hard to whittle down.
I think maxim play is going to be the safest atm. |

Hi, well seen as pio spam seems super prevailant and im getting owned by it, anyone got some handy tips for dealing with it? Or a nice BO.
I mean come on.. pios charging over open cover against stationary guards (1 on 1) and totally owning them.
When this many people are blatently spamming them, its clear they are broken. |

Sounds interesting, but also potentially difficult to pull off. At least until some of the tactics you mention are practised well.
I have been experimenting with T2 T4 as well. Mostly as a way of reaching KV8, SU85s and Katushkas, which is a very strong late game combo for sov. Works well with industry actually |
