There is no utility in this and sets a dangerous precedent. I am a devm and vonivan fan. A few years back I would've used theyr names as a sign of respect. This should not be bannable.
I understand the dangers, do Relic?.
I'm concerned with Relic's cherry-picking, complacency and corporate hypocrisy.
The downfall of Blizzard should have been a red flag to everyone that it’s dangerous to put any company on a pedestal. Blizzard fell into the trap of complacency which allowed corruption to destroy the company inside out.
This video highlight Blizzard's epic downfall:
At the very least Sega PR had the backbone to criticize EA’s reckless greed while Relic staff stays silent about the EA + Actiblizz bandwagon of fools.
As long Relic staff stays silent about this blatant corruption they are in no position to lecture me nor anyone else about their non-existent moral high ground.
If evil & corruption manage to infiltrate your personal hobby/game, everyone loses including the publisher, studio and fans. The evil propaganda machinery is extremely well funded.
I have no doubt the gaming industry is deeply infiltrated.
So no, I do not have much faith in the gaming industry as the core leadership is either incompetent, complacent or corrupt.
Do not be fooled by the wolf in sheep clothing. The decadence will end when enough people stop acting like a bunch of gullible sheep.
The price of vigilance (allegiance to TRUTH) vs the trap of complacency:
"The leaders don't want to hear any feedback that isn't positive. [...] Insided, they ignore all the red flags people have been waving at them. Instead they say the same corporate soundbites and pretend everything is fine."
Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.
Sheep no more?
“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Our partners at Relic have been incredible stalwarts as we all migrated development from office to home, and modified (through trial and error) our processes to help facilitate productivity to keep the game on track. So much passion, such great developers, artists, designers, narrators, audio experts, and community—not to mention the backbone functions that keep the company going.
Did the CoH leadership get a similar memo? and I quote;
"modified (through trial and error) our processes to help facilitate productivity to keep the game on track."

Relic transparency RIP? -repost but relevant to highlight the corporate hypocrisy/two-faced Relic-
After DoW3 failure Relic leadership said they wanted to become more transparent with community consultation and early playtesting etc.
https://community.dawnofwar.com/discussion/15995/well-relic-q-a/p5
*snip*
Your points about betas and players as part of our process have been a huge point of discussion in the studio. I can't get into much detail here but even before the launch of DOW, the AOE team has been working very differently to make user research, early play-testing, and community consultation a much bigger part of how we make games.
*snip*
The root of the disconnect that we've focused on is iteration without player feedback. One of the biggest risks in making games is that you don’t fully see how a title will really play and feel until you’ve hit a point where it’s difficult to switch gears. From where we're sitting, bringing that early and ongoing player validation into our process is a big priority so well-intentioned decisions don't go long without feedback.
*snip*
We're pouring all of our lessons learned into our other projects knowing that making them great is our best way forward. We'd love to share more on how that change is coming to life in the studio when we're able to talk more openly about those projects.
*snip*
Hey guys, I'm trying to be as transparent as I can here but I can't reveal new info on upcoming projects. What I can tell you is that both are being developed very differently for Relic and there is a lot of positive change afoot specifically around community consultation, user research, and early playtesting.
*snip*
there's a lot of pressure on our next releases and we're changing up how we do things to make sure we deliver. You'll have to wait and see but we're looking forward to sharing more about those changes as the projects progress.
*snip*
The role of user research, early play-testing, and community consultation in our process has been a big focus. Even before the launch of DOW, our other projects have been introducing new ways of bringing this into the fold. We're looking forward to giving you more insight into that process later down the line but for now we're staying focused on the work itself.
*snip*
The focus now is on the work ahead of us and making our next projects great. Once we cover more ground on that front, we can think more openly about sharing more. We don't want to skip steps, you know?
*snip*
There were lots of people across the development and community teams working to bring your voices into the studio and challenging us to be more transparent from the start. The conversations they started then are the reason you're seeing this now, and why you'll be seeing a different approach moving forward. Credit where credit's due.
*snip*
Work continues, conversations continue. We know we have something to prove and the teams are determined to prove it.
*snip*
We've also been working really hard with the game teams to determine how we can create more space for player feedback, early testing, and open dialogue in our process moving forward. Like I've said in some other comments, we're seeing promising results but we can't share much more than that until the projects are further along.
Will competitive capitalism from BBI destroy Relic?
Vancouver survival of the fittest as Relic vs BBI competition for talent intensifies: The new Black Bird Interactive/Relic 2.0 ship coming through
With humble beginnings, as an entrepreneur and visionary leader Rob Cunningham build a new RTS studio from his own garage. I have a lot of respect for real entrepreneurs as respect is earned not given.
Honestly, I’m baffled the Sega leadership is letting the Relic GM off the hook. Go compare Rob Cunningham with Relic GM. It's like night and day. As an entrepreneur, Rob Cunningham took less risk with Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak than Relic GM did with DoW3 and CoH2.
The crazy risk-taking with the DoW IP was not building new marketing opportunities but Relic leadership being incompetent (at best).

Hey,
First, I want to say thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts, I really do appreciate it. Many of the points laid out here we’re aware of, but you’ve given me a lot to think about as well.
We’ve been growing a lot as we gear up for our new projects. This is a really great thing for the future of Relic, but with that comes growing pains as well. I totally hear where you’re coming from regarding the dynamic with your leaders and managers. I’m not happy that you (and likely other employees) feel that you’re not being heard. Our games are the product of each and every person in the studio and I don’t believe we can be successful if we aren’t listening.
Given that you’re a current employee, I have a favor to ask of you – keep the feedback coming! Speak up at our AMAs, we can go grab a quick coffee, or you can just send me an email. I always want to hear your thoughts, not only about the good things but also where we can improve and if I’ve let you down. Especially if I’ve let you down.
I’m proud to work with some of the most talented people in the industry, and it really will take all of us to keep Relic great.

What could Relic do?
4) Distribute their hosted servers on AWS globaly (e.g. some of the capacity in AWS in Frankfurt) so don't have to take a detour to NA all the time. This would improve the ping for alle players and avoid bottlenecks.
Thx for the informative info, but this lag/server issue is something Relic leaders could have been
1) transparent about months ago
2) or failing to investigate due to negligence
3) or higher-ups that suffer from cognitive dissonance and willful ignorance
TL;DR Not just Relic but the entire gaming industry needs new leadership that has a backbone without willful ignorance, self-Deception/confirmation bias and cognitive dissonance. That takes pride in delivering quality content on schedule and on budget!. Also reducing Relic's wasteful spending is a win-win deal for both fans (more value for your money) and Sega shareholders (increasing return of investments).
With recent gaming news, my faith in this industry (the corporate side/psyops infiltration, not the fan community) has been permanently crushed. Relic won't do much as the wrong people are in CHARGE..
We're better off writing an open fan letter to Sega. With the downfall of even CD PROJEKT RED caused by higher-ups bad attitudes, it's obvious fans are just a walking wallet for the most part.
Relic higher-ups will sing like a canary once they have something to sell.
Remember sunshine is the best disinfectant.
Tough questions that enforce transparency, not softball questions are the key to cleaning up this mess.
When is the last time higher-ups in Relic has done a non-scripted AMA with the fan community? Anyone? No softball questions to Relic leaders don't count as doing an 'interview' or two ways communication.
I'm 99% sure the Relic GM aka the insincere charming Microsoft fanboy could fix this CoH lag issue (among others) with only a few phone calls. If he actually cared about the CoH IP rather than pretending to be something he is not as actions speak louder than words.
Insert insincere Relic GM promises here; xxxxx
“We have an incredibly broad mix of customers to support, so having the right management backing and approach to security is essential for us. The games that we produce create significant volumes of data, and our studios use that data to continuously influence how they are developed,” says Kashif Iqbal, Sega Europe’s head of corporate technology and cybersecurity.
“This means that our security approach has to be just as agile, able to deliver results faster and make our team more productive.”
wakey-wakey America!
Need-to-know for all Americans as the U.S. military is at war to save the constitutional republic (see below confirmation).
This stealth war/second Cold War is also confirmed by many insider sources.
Team Humanity vs Team Sauron: DoD Special Forces vs. CIA firefight in Frankfurt Germany (server facility related to election rigging) Confirmed DoD operation & successful raid:
The U.S. Army did not conduct a raid in Germany on either Scytl or Dominion offices or servers. They are foreign nationals and we must operate in accordance with German law. Moreover, the U.S. Army does not have law enforcement powers with respect to such entities.
So what happened? I am reliably informed that a unit under the command of USEUCOM (i.e., United States European Command) did in fact conduct an operation to take control of computer servers. But these servers belong to the CIA, not Dominion or Scytl. The U.S. military has full authority to do this because any CIA activity in the European theater is being conducted using military cover. In other words, CIA officers would be identified to the German government (and anyone else asking) as military employees or consultants.
Such an operation would have been carried out with U.S. law enforcement present to take custody of the evidence. That means that the evidence will be under the control of the Department of Justice through US Attorneys and can be used in court or other judicial proceedings.
This is not the first time that a military unit attached to EUCOM has compelled a CIA computer facility to hand over evidence. A dear friend of mine (a retired DEA officer) told me about an incident where he entered a CIA facility in Frankfurt backed up by the US Army to get info the CIA was withholding (this took place in the 1980s).
I also have confirmed what Jim Hoft reported the other night–the CIA’s Gina Haspel was not informed in advance of this operation. Based on this fact, I think it is correct that action was taken in Germany on territory under U.S. control and that a CIA facility was targeted.
The leaks purportedly revealed that a top secret CIA unit used the German city of Frankfurt am Main as the starting point for numerous hacking attacks on Europe, China and the Middle East.
We should not confuse military silence with no action as covert operations are now underway. This raid was leaked intentionally for a reason.
This successful DoD raid against rogue CIA should give Americans a little bit of hope that justice will prevail.
These special forces are under United States Secretary of Defense Christopher C. Miller acting since November 9, 2020.

Global authorianism is now a fast-moving train and the "positive military" and "we the people" must act to derail it or risk another world war. Also see below warning by General Sir Nick Carter, the chief of UK's defence staff.
This DoD restructuring is following a previous recommendation by JFK during the first Cold War era.
“according to John F. Kennedy: "There is another type of warfare—new in its intensity, ancient in its origin—war by guerrillas, subversives, insurgents, assassins; war by ambush instead of by combat, by infiltration instead of aggression, seeking victory by eroding and exhausting the enemy instead of engaging him. It preys on unrest."

This is a good time to remind everyone of KGB's Yuri Bezmenov who foresaw all of this +30yrs ago. After the fall of the Soviet Union we didn't think Communism was a threat. Sadly that wasn't the case: https://youtu.be/bX3EZCVj2XA
All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when we are able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must appear inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near.
General Sir Nick Carter, the chief of UK's defence staff, says there is a 'risk' of another world war.
He said history 'has a rhythm' and some of today's regional conflicts could see escalation lead to miscalculation' and then 'full-blown war', 8. nov. 2020

Without going into all the speculation here, two main reasons for the delay are;
I have no disrespect towards passionate Relic devs. But the Relic rumor mill keeps spinning as long the studio keeps failing with transparency.
Logical thinking.
DoW3 destroyed a great deal of consumer confidence in Relic. As one result, the rumor mill is no longer working in Relic's favor. With relatively low consumer confidence, all the Relic secrecy is not a winning strategy.
The studio has more to gain than to lose by becoming transparent.
Also sunshine is the best disinfectant against incompetent leaders.
Both passionate Relic devs and fans deserve leaders that cares about CoH excellence.
That is all.
So ridiculous that all Relic games/IPs (CoH + DoW) have zero confirmed community managers while AoE4 has 4 Relic CMs + Microsoft CMs.
How can any pro-CoH devs working at Relic be OK with this?
If I equate it to my IRL work experience I would guess Coh2 is the lowest importance thing in the company. Or Sega has their hands around Relics balls so tight they cant do anything?
Relic ideas are worthless without good execution. Even if we assume the best CoH intentions there are just to many Relic leaders/managers who fail in execution with little top down accountability.
Relic leaders could have turned DoW3 failures into success stories by removing deadweight.
For me, the most disappointing thing is the corporate hypocrisy/double standards and empty promises.
My fan advice to Relic/Sega management; Walk-the-talk or STFU!.
For example, Relic leaders still claim to be a transparent company.
If Relic leaders believes that's true then I'm James Bond (wishful thinking).
This is Nintendo leaders walking the talk;
