consolidating conscripts and maintaining range seem to work for me and a sniper to seal the deal. |
The issue with this statement is that you now have a 115 fuel unit sitting in the back of your lines waiting for the possibility of a soviet plane and not contributing to the armour vs armour fight
of course it doesnt contribute to armour fights, it isnt even equipped to do the job neither is its intended role in game was to take out tanks. place him behind ur lines to take out planes and stop infantry flanks.
same thing with m5 quads.
but i do feel that 115 fuel for that kinda role is a little too much of an investment, but hey it stops light vehicles too i hope. |
any AOE(except tank rounds, artillery) should have their lethality lowered at the edges of its effects. we all knew how bad things were when mortars were 1 shotting infantry when the game was released.
1 more thing about mines, any anti infantry mines in general, should have suppression just like vcoh, together with the AOE nerf as proposed. its very frustrating when ur well placed mine gets triggered off, kills only a single man and does not stop a flank. this way mines can assure a flank to fail and also removes the probability of a squadwipe. |
it needs to stop being a bloody damage soak, that thing needs the same vulnerabilities as the regular tiger. that hp boost needs to go. not even king tiger had this sort of firepower when it 1st came out in coh1, no improved ranged and damage, just insane armor and hp pool.
being sub it for a KT with a regular tiger cannon but elefant level of armor and 2000hp or a tiger with a better gun. or even better rebalance the entire commander together with soviet industry. |
please do nerf it. i used it and wiped out 2-4 retreating squads with it. while it was fun for me, it must have sucked for the other guy. |

lol not kidding, HT and SC never had a good chance against guards PTRS anyways. i was hoping more like coh1 zooks, poor frontal penetration, relying on rear penetrations and that 1.5x dmg boost against heavy tanks.
ever had the chance to run up to a elefant with a damaged engine and watch in horror as all rear ptrs shots do nothing? while it slowly backs away from guards. |
ill be honest, i just lost to a tiger ace and extremely unhappy about it, dominating the entire game with snipers/guards and katyushas/su85 until elefants destroyed the range advantage i have, thats fine. so losing that advantage, i was on the defensive.
but, delay the game a little more and tiger ace came out and destroyed all my forces with panther and p4 support, on the other hand, i had guards, su85. smoke discharges negated my guards, blitzed tanks circle strafed and all i had left was guards trying to pelt tanks with AT rifles.
so here's the 2 things that i cannot handle, soviet infantry AT being retarded, unable to kill tanks from the flanks, tiger ace much to powerful and have no initial cost.
please give guards bazookas. |
I think 2.25 armour is way too much for an infantry man, apart from that they are actually okay. snipers will bleed them and they have no anti vehicle power. the real problem i see is that small arms fire do too much towards light armour like halftracks and armoured cars.
but the way ppsh firing animation irks me though, they shoot them like rifles. could do with longer bursts and some tracers to make them feel like they were showering the enemy positions with bullets rather than accurate rifle fire. |
seems like a good complement to the soviet army, ill go buy it and check it out. |
