3 Tier Soviet? What the hell do you mean? You made typical clown cars with flamers after you basically were pushed off the map in the initial fight and then 4 or 5 SU85s with htd and guards...
You didn't even build the T3 building...unless you're referring to what everyone else calls T4 (Katyushka, SU76, SU85)?
Honestly there is nothing interesting, new, or exciting about this replay which leads me to believe that you simply posted this because you beat the Brazilian tournament champion.
Congrats, your small trophy is in the mail.
PS - your SU85s literally won you the game against infantry and tanks. They sniped both his snipers at the same time which were constantly a problem for you. So I guess in some ways you should be thanked for adding another replay to the litany of others that demonstrate the stupidity of that unit. |
I agree that it's a lame strat on a map where this can be insufferably hard to defeat. The main reason being the trees in the middle and vehicle pathing. Scout Cars just get stuck and then owned by guards. Grens chasing the half track and snipers just get bled out.
I will say first that you kept fighting in the middle and you really don't "HAVE" to engage that sniper/guard crap. Ya the fuel is +10 but even if you lost that and took the outside perimeter you'd still have a much better resource advantage and VP advantage. Also, I don't really like the guy who capped the right side's capping order. I'd much rather have connected strat points in this game then unconnected muni points from the get go. You need to get resources as efficiently and fast as possible.
My advice would be to use a combo of MG's, SC's (1 upgunned for every m3 if there are guards on the field - you need to kill it quickly), a HT or reinforce point and your own German sniper. The execution catches his guards in an MG pin with SC support to challenge the snipers/m3. The HT provides reinforcements and the sniper either counter-snipes or bleeds his guards. Make sure to keep the sniper at a distance behind the mgs in cover. The snipers in the M3 can't target an enemy sniper automatically. I realize that requires a lot more teamwork and execution micro than your opponent, but that's honestly the state of the game atm. |
Few things
1 - Either some feature of the replay system is flawed I can't tell if the blitz trucks are actually being deployed or you never even used them correctly. They were never engaged into their "hull down" mode or whatever that actually gives you the resource bonus from what I could tell at least.
2 - The flak was actually penetrating the rear armor of that SU85 for a couple hits rather than the Panther. |
POLISH CAVALRY HORSEBACK UNITS!!!!
(ok that was a bit insensitive)

Yes but a panzer 4 costs something like 150 more fuel using horrible off the top of my head math skills. If you wanted it your way the fuel cost would then need to be reduced to vcoh levels...
And it doesn't make sense to do that because of the structure of the economy in this game (+3 for strat points, no variation between small, mid, large fuel/muni sectors). |
Lol awesome find |
The battlefield for tanks can be more dangerous yes. Infantry against tanks, no. The Ostwind isn't a tank and I'm excluding crush and the t70 |

Honestly, no.
The reason being because they changed the resource collection and upkeep system, and MP is determined in a slightly different way.
Arguments about economy comparisons with VCoh don't really stand up because the system is so different. In some ways I think it's better, some worse. It's more forgiving than vcoh which is great if I'm losing and annoying if I'm winning. However this will provide for more strategic variation I hope. |
Yes - thanks P!
I now will stand down from defcon 3. |
Well the relic response is that AT nades are paid upgrades which my response was "they start with 50 fuel...?"
Don't get me wrong I see your point, but I think the AT nades are essential for soviets and are working as intended (like vcoh stickies). They look stupid side-winding around trees, and I guess that there could be a slight chance for no engine damage on bigger tanks. However then the Faust would need the same to be a fair comparison which is what relic is going for.
I think your problem lies in the fact that the bigger tanks (panther, tiger,
Elefant, even this new neutered panzerV - I'd say stug but who the hell uses a stug?) pose virtually no threat to infantry rushes. A sticky in vcoh would dmg a tiger's engine...but you'd probably lose that entire rifle squad in the process. |
