Passive suppression, passive healing (Vet 3), - 49% received accuracy in total for the smallest target-size squad in the game (from 0.7 down to 0.357), + 40% accuracy and - 25% weapon cooldown... That's god-like as f*ck! Maybe just me, but I love Obersoldatens the same way I love water. At least 1 of them and your army feels way much better in terms of AI. And then, not to mention the squad-spacing buff in the next patch, they gonna get way much better. If you still get them, keep doing it! That's very good!‎

Late game I need my Obers to inflict as much manpower bleed on my opponent as possible.

As as great as the buffed RA for the Obers themselves is, it's rarely small arms fire that kills off my Obers.

I don't mean to say Obers are useless or underpowered though.

Probably vetted Panthers against AWM. That or the luckiest draws of OMCG.

There you go. That's the major #1 issue with respect to Wermacht scaling. It's Wermacht Armour scaling, not Wermacht Infantry scaling.

The fact that the community voted Wermacht Infantry scaling instead, pretty much tied down our hands on what we were allowed to touch.

Uh, I am pretty sure there wasnt an option for Wehrmacht armor scaling.

And yall never addressed Wehrmacht infantey late game scaling. You affected early and mid game scaling indirectly through light vehicle nerfs and affecting USF mortar and the doctrinal lmg. But it's not like anything meaningful changed for ostheer infantry in the late game.

I don't know about you, but infantry supporting tanks makes it so enemy infantry can't just Yolo around and snare. You don't Zook blob against 4 lmg grens. You calliope the grens then Zook blob because axis won't be able to keep their infantry alive in the lategame.

Back to Penal PTRS?

Aw man. At least there won't be flamethrowers. Although if PTRS are going to be stock on Penals, I wonder how warranted the Guards nerfs are now.

Also, what survey?

The thing with Shocks is that they're really only effective against infantry squads with LMGs and bolt action rifles. So... Grens. Pgrens with their StGs make it a whole lot harder for shocks to just march into direct fire and win the engagement.

But they are great for clearing MG42s, PAKs, and mortars. They are the definition of the kind of squad you want for that job. So I feel like they are very clearly strong and particularly balanced against Ostheer.

But then once you look at OKW, you find that OKW has StGs falling out its arse. This puts Shocks in a rather poor position. Because of that mid range power of StGs, Shocks can't close the distance (though they still got smoke) without taking a lot of damage. This is highlighted by how MP40s on pios and assault grens are still absolute fodder for Shocks. It's all about that mid range and their ability to close. (If volks had a full-squad mp40 upgrade instead of 3 StGs we wouldn't be having this conversation, IMO.) Needless to say, Shocks can still do incredible damage if they can get in close without being focus fired or pull off a flank or ambush.

However, it is worth noting that panzerfusiliers and JLI are pretty good meat for them though. (Be wary of wounded shocks against JLI though with their sniper crit.) They're both doctrinal and 2 CP though, so their timing is at least balanced. (But then again Soviets usually much more dependent on commander choice than OKW @ 2 CPs.)

So: Shocks are in the realms of balance against Ostheer. OKW's laundry list of issues makes them a tough faction for effective Shock usage.
