No, Starcraft, AOE2, Warcraft, etc are nothing like CoH2. If it's an infinitesimally, and meaninglessly tiny chance then why do you care if its even in the game? Because it gives a layer of unpredictability excitement unlike any other game does. I love helping hans with "where is my luck in this game" or von ivan "that was/is unfortunate" or in my own games when a big tank looses his gun when he was about to kill my medium tank or at gun. Yeah it sucks at the moment it happens to me, but soon after i still enjoyed the esp if i still managed to win it afterwards. I do love dow2 as well, but compared to coh2 is quite clean and predictable, a lot less fun because of it. In: COH2 Balance

Outright removal of these crits is a loss for coh2 a big loss. I and lots more have loved them since day 1 of the original coh. Why chance the unique thing when other games fit your criteria perfectly? Why let one tiny chance of bad luck ruin your fun in the game? In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Does anyone else think it's a problem Panzer IVs...13 Dec 2020, 16:28 PM Jump back to quoted post13 Dec 2020, 14:22 PMThamor Main reason for P4 coming out is because allies meta is nowadays all the time trying to dominate that early-mid game with their "heavier" light vehicles, Daimler, Stuart, T70. T34 can come out very early if a player goes for it and not take out t70, it's not like russian faction doesn't have AT capabability to fend off LV play from OST without having T70. People dont get the t70 for at, they get the t70 for its ai. Soviets dont get early upgrades or nades or great mg's for their inf to cause mp bleed. In live cons only shine at t4, much later then axis inf. Maxim being meh at best dont help much in that regard as well. In: COH2 Balance

The sov barrages are more forgiving i still find, then again most sov stock stuff is nowadays. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Does anyone else think it's a problem Panzer IVs...13 Dec 2020, 13:11 PM Its not a problem for me persee, but it is strange, considering that they are better in dps and armour then allied meds. At least cromw and sherman give utility to make up for it. No biggie there just a simatry. The t34 however should be the first to be fielded most of the time. Considering how weak and low impact a single t34 is. This has to with the t70 basicly being part tech cost. You wont survive mid game without it most likely. If somehow mid game didnt depend so much on it you could save fuel and get a t34 out much quicker, and it will have some shock value unlike now. Maybe the changes to tech and 7th man will swith the midgame up and you going t34 rush becomes viable. We will have to wait and see. In: COH2 Balance

There has is whole thread about it than compares the mortars check it out before continuing posting pls. I find the barrages of soviet mortar take to long. Ive had mg42's just wait it out with little to no damage taken. And units such as grens or pgrens just walk out with less chance to take damage. Now that i think about it the mortars are more responsive now. Esp with seperate cookdowns. I defenitly love that change I will test the mortars some more. I will walk back on my comment bout the barrages. I do not think the flares need any changing atm. In: COH2 Balance

The barrages should be buffed if flare goes to vet 1. The ost and soviet mortar auto rof is closest its ever been been but both ost barrages are stil a lot better. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: It's time for Main Gun Crits to go13 Dec 2020, 07:48 AM Nice to see we are no longer at remove it period. The main gun crit below 25% hp thresh hold next to already being snared. This should only be able to with snares is a good approach, i would like to see tanks or at guns still able to do this below 25% hp, only at 5% chance or even lower that gun gets destroyed but no hp damage (no egine damage). It can save the tank wich would otherwise have been destroyed. In: COH2 Balance

Alternatively you could go play another game. That would solve the issue, too. The game changing for the positive is not a bad thing. Bounces/accuracy are core features of the combat system, they are not the same as random main gun crits, which are entirely unnecessary. Heavy Cover reductions are also absolutely unrelated, as well. Cover is not a random chance. Its a core game mechanic, and entirely predictable. You dont get my point concerning the cover system i made. The point is where will it end? It will end at a stale streamlined aka boring rts where everything is a certanty. You think people will stop after removing main gun crits? Did they stop after cold weather removal or heavy engine critical or track destroyed? No they didnt, this very thread proves it. And a good direction for the game is very subjective. I do agree it far better then years back. But the critical like main gun imo need to stay. And still if a exeedingly rare crit causes so much frustration esp when it can also happen to your opponent why play this game? If you dont want those crits play dow 2 or 3, or c&c or star craft. They don have those feutures. It would save precious man hours not changing a great game into something its not designed or meant to be. In: COH2 Balance
