So basically a crew abandon that can't be recrewed by your opponent, but sucks up pop cap until you fully repair it, or destroy it yourself?
i was once able to immobilize and bust the gun on an over extended JT (back when crits could roll and save a unit from death.) you bet your ass i left that pop cap sapping bastard alive in no mans land to grind the salt in the wound.. |
Well I don't think Stug needs any survivability change:
- It's target size and rotation rate already got a buff recently.
- The armor helps it against mediums, which is what the Stug is supposed to counter mainly.
I don't think vet 3 is that hard to get if you use it conservatively, it's just that the Stug is a very good tank for uptrading, similar to the M10. Also, people often get it when behind or when they need an emergency measure against heavies, which means they don't tend to last that long.
I do think mobility helps it (much) more than armor, so I wouldn't mind vet 3 and vet 2 bonus getting swapped.
yea tbh i think across the board id rather traits that actively make a unit more survivable would be better served at vet 2 and passive improvements at vet 3. that way at vet 2 the unit skill cap raises and by vet 3 you have earned the ability to let the unit sort of take care of ir self a bit better if that makes sense.. |
but that is the key of the problem - many players feel certain faction uderperform, when it is the axis the threads are too quickly closed or laughed at.
People can feel how they like. That's the nice thing about stats. I could "feel" that vet 3 7 man cons are not as durable as a mortar crew but I'd be wrong. |
Claim- Ost has low pen
Evidence - no they dont
Rebuttal-what about target acquisition and rate of fire and turret rotation?
Straws- grasped at
Probably about time to shut this thread down. I think it's served its purpose... What ever it happened to be... |
Where the hell does this "Tommies are squishy" bull shit come from? They have an out of combat RA of 0.9. That's a bit more durable than grens and a bit less than sturms. They have a smaller target size of ALL the infantry anyone can make at the start of the game with the lone exception of sturms who don't have the luxury of engaging at range.
Furthermore their durability is increased when in cover, more so than any units for that matter because they get bonus 10% RA reduction AS WELL as the standard bonus. And then they can boost their model count adding 25% more durability (and dps)
Whoever keeps spouting Tommies being squishy are full of shit. They can be the tankiest mainline in game save for cons just by spending some fuel and using cover but they are CERTAINLY not squishy. The earliest any faction can a squad with a better RA (aside from aforementioned sturms) is pgrens and after that is Obers.
They don't have 100 models, that's true, but if you can pull your head out of your ass long enough to play Ost you will find Tommies durability exceedingly familiar and even exceptional should you make use of cover.
Edit: if memory serves they lowered the reinforcement cost of Tommies as well shortly after release making them less per head than grens as well. So if Tommies are squishy I don't even know what grens are.. |
Ost has high pen units across the board, allies have higher pen special units. Hardly a balance problem... |
Jagdpanzer IV
SU-85
Jackson
Firefly
Thanks!
Yea given it's pen values I'd say lowering its vet requirements is a great start point. |
Faster ROF is the MOST clear cut advantage in the heat of battle... |
The only point that I see in this change would be to give pre-authorisation (aka the Schwehr HQ split) more meaning, while this would substantially buff the timing of OKW vehicles. Every vehicle listed above is strong unit, either in AI or AT department. OKW doesn't need more buffs. Last thing we need is 10m OKW Ostwind or Flammpanzer. OKW should actually take some effort to win with, just like with the other factions.
Its like you completely forgot the highly impactful 10mp increase for volks. My 4 volks squad comes 10(!!!!!)seconds later so some hefty buffs are in order tbh so we can overcome that |
it would be odd to see such a powerful unit quite early though... arguably it would come even earlier than the T-34 with these changes... which is a bit BS considering how strong OKW is...
imo the idea of giving it switchable shells or an upgrade to increase penetration in exchange for DPS is the better idea...
as for OKW in general the faction needs a nerf along with USF... the WFA powercreep is dumb and the winrates reflect this...
It would be weird to see it earlier than a t34 but you wouldn't. There would be no reason NOT to get the flak upgrade and unlock better armour if you reasonably can so you would only get the JP4 if you are already really on the back foot and need whatever AT you can get. |
