I like Miragefla's idea of just giving them cheaper reinforce prices. A molly speed buff would also be nice, even if the price has to go up a bit to compensate.
Personally, I feel like infiltrators should come out with just normal old rifles and pay a pittance in munis to upgrade to their weapon of choice, kind of like Storms for Ost are now.
Combine that with 'nades starting on cooldown and they'd go from cheese units to ambushers requiring a bit of foresight.
So if Relic actually follows through on the community vote, next thing we'll be seeing is some much needed doctrine touching-up for EFA. While I have no fucking clue how that won out over USF mortar and light vehicle meta as "important", might as well role with it. I've collected a bunch of ideas from some of my other posts and compiled them, including WFA and UKF commanders so hopefully Relic will realize its not just the EFA that's screwed. Feedback's appreciated, especially on certain changes like the ISU/Elephant.
I know everyone's got their 2 cents on what should have been, mine is that REs should have been able to upgrade to a grenade launcher to act like a mini-mortar when standing still to make both units useful.
But that isn't happening, so just replace the turbo-mortar with the one everyone tested and agreed wasn't batshit insane.
I don't understand why there aren't more narrow but wide maps in the pool. There's no tactical advantage or gameplay reason to keep scaling up both dimensions of the map, it just makes retreats take longer and waste time. And Redball is bad, breaking the map into narrow lanes with no interaction with one-another for flanking was just asking for MG lockdowns.
It worked in CoH1 because Allied TDs were either really expensive (FF is like 10 fuel less then a Panther IIRC) or cheap and spammable with stats closer to a medium tank's (M10), only one Allied heavy tank (Pershing) and no "heavy"medium tanks. Wehr T4 was also more accessible.
I actually came here looking for the same answer, but more for early-mid on narrow maps like Ettelbruck or Rails and Metal where MG/Mortar lockdown + Shrekblob works wonders.
Late-game, Calliope or Landmatress are definitely the way to go, 2 of them will obliterate camping. I've been trying the Royal Arty commander that Mr. Smith mentioned, but I find its just not as good as just leveling the area with Land Mattresses.
Does anybody have a replay where players manage to deal with this kind of play early-mid? Its just so boring when you know the whole fight is going to turn into a massive artillery spamfest.
