Latch is pretty spot on. The AVRE is good (once it gets hold fire back), but suffers from Relic's shit doctrine design and Engie doc being extremely rigid. At only 150 fuel, I find it shines in 2v2s where it can be paired with a Firefly or building heavy 1v1s like Checkpoint. |
I feel like the design isn't too bad, but there's waaaaay too many bonuses and sidetech available. Some of them should just be bonuses for teching as with the existing Axis factions, like with weapon upgrades. Some of it just seems like feature-creep overkill, eg. stock vehicle officer and non-doc cloak upgrade. Sidetech in general also just doesn't work as well with CoH2 being about rushing tech rather than sideteching.
Other than that though, the idea's not half bad. I'd scrap the Panther and P1 though, too many panthers as is and P1 is really out of place. P1 could be replaced with 232s or 221s, not sure what to give as a decent brawler though, not that I think they'd need one with solid design. |
Even if it didn't affect rank, that would be a great way to help people find matches. |
Vet 3 Tommos and DP Guard Squads all have 4 weapons, so they can start dropping guns the moment they drop below four guys. Guards have a lower drop chance to compensate. |
Keep it's price but let it be repairable and both reinforce and produce new commandos in your own territory.
Other than that I see commandos being used less and less, people either go Vanguard (like me) or Mobile Assault for the Infiltration Commandos that don't come in your "wooden tube" as you said and don't cost as much for being basically more or less the same unit.
Pretty much this. A swap to Vanguard and Commando Regiment's glider CPs would also be a nice touch, considering how much better Vanguard's is while costing less CP. |
Out of curiosity, how does the profile of its rockets compare with that of the Katyusha? |
I haven't used Guards much in the patch because I've been dicking around with PTRS Penals + Shocks (and For the Motherland).
Flamer + PPSH package works nicely now that the squad isn't quite as durable with vet.
PTRS package is mostly a great idea, it compliments Shocks and PPSH cons really well.
The issue now is that Penals have become a sort of do-all unit. Long range, short range, anti-garrison, anti-vehicle, its all in the Penal's repertoire. While I do appreciate stock Soviets having infantry AT since it does open up a few otherwise meh doctrines, I wish Cons had gotten the PTRS instead (out of scope, I know). |
Damn, that's some powerful necromancy |
@A. Soldier
Why go to CoH ...?
WHats the point of CoH 2, if not to be better ?!?
To make more money, of course. |
Needs 500 more armor at least to be viable. |
