I got this recommendation from someone in the official forums. So, let's put that on the tab:
Balance-Team, can you change some explosive effects for cosmetics? Can you give Pershing and Jackson same projectile explosion animation as Ost Tiger? The have all around caliber 88 too 90. They don't need this huge effect, it looks strange. Same for Firefly, can you give it same as Panther? I made a little mod for that, it looks much nicer.
The issue with the forward assembly is that the engineers repair their own assembly, and they do it very fast. Thus, you can't really take the assembly down even if you wanted to.
For reference, Soviet repair station heals at exactly the same rate, whereas MechQH spawns at 3/4th the rate (since it only spawns 3 engineers).
In this game i tried the new Cromwell, Comet and mortar pit.
Crom seems much okay-er to me.
I still think the armor of the comet is too strong (rear armor at least). Tiger shells kept bouncing a lot, which is very frustrating against mediums.
Mortar pit still could cover 2 VP and wiped several squads without me looking.
Rear armour could definitely be nerfed (it doesn't have to be that high).
However, I don't think nerfing front armour would be a good idea. It just makes the unit too similar to the Cromwell, in which case, why build the Comet?
Normally, I would ask for what price should we give to the Comet. However, if you see at the insane resource float during that match, that was one of the core issues why the OST player was caught with their pants down.
The other issue is repair speed disparity. The Comet just came back too fast on the field.
Finally, there were no snares employed by the OST player. This would have been very different if grenadiers were used instead of assgrens on this map.
Personally, I'm looking for the following type of games in particular, where:
- Maxim spam was involved (did Maxim spam get nerfed enough?)
- 1-2 Maxims are build max, and are used to support a conscript force (does Maxim still function as an MG?)
- Lend-lease builds (optionally with dshk, fuel drops and call-ins)
- Brits make it to the late-game and there are Cromwells/Comets involved
- Artillery cover is used, and how it's countered
The Panthers are identical, so I could see them doing that. The only real changes the mg dps and some accuracy.
The p4 variants should remain distinct though. I mean they are already different models, I don't see any reason to cut out diversity in the game instead of just fixing the problem with some small buffs.
The Panthers are definitely not identical.
Try putting an infantry unit in front of the OST panther and an infantry unit in front the OKW panther and watch wonders unfold.
Then, right click to your designed destination and click Blitzkrieg/Combat Blitz
