Thread: Paratroopers hit rates18 Nov 2018, 14:15 PM The reason you don’t see paratroopers right now (and basically all elite doctrine USF squads) is because USF already has so many infantry squads. Adding a paratrooper on top of 3 rifles a LT/capt/major Res and support weapons bleeds way to much. Paratroopers are very good and personally if they didn’t have high RA then they would be monsters with the LMG upgrade. Double 30 cal already shreds most squads. A 6 man high dps and tanky squad like that would be really nuts on USFs roster. Guards have a lower RA because they kinda need to frontline for Sovs in my experience. Also Jesus shock troops have a 31 mp reinforce on a 6 man squad? No wonder they bleed so hard. In: COH2 Balance

There isn’t really a reason to back tech as OKW except maybe getting a stuka HT in team games. The only reason I back tech now is to get medics basically. Repair station is already pretty redundant since sturms already repair pretty fast and personally I never go it already. In: COH2 Gameplay

You usually dont have room for them because youre forced to get so many infantry squads. With the officer potentially arriving as the 3rd purchased unit, paratrooper builds might be less awkward. That's definitely true, but wouldn't rangers be more ideal? They come in a better doctrine and are just as good as para except for more open maps where the 30 cal paras do better. I'll probably still use Airborne after but having two less relevant abilities hurts the doctrine. Well the Stuart now has potential to be a decent unit since it finally has a nondoc suppression platform so USF wont be swamped by infantry going Capt tier anymore its also cheaper and comes out earlier now. I agree the AA HT Pack Howie might be a bit strong but also the m20 did get buffs and got a pretty big manpower cost buff so it might start coming back.
