2) The OKW Panzer IV has equal/ better anti infantry (especially with vet) for half the cost.

I find the OKW Panzer 4 much more reliable AI compared to the more RNG one shot potential the KT has.

Personally I'd rather take the reliability of the p4 over the RNG of the KT anyday. Not to mention the KT vet requirement is insane while the p4 isn't nearly as difficult to vet up so as you said it performs better.


Maybe more reliable AI inplace of AOE so it doesnt return to wipe machine but actually has reliable AI worth its cost?

As nosliw said always have a doctrine available to counter Arti spam in team games. IL2, Air Supremacy and the Time on Target all destroy Lefh's easily. Just ask teammates to recon theres like a 100% chance atleast one teammate has some sort of recon plane as allies.


If okw is required to have a doctrine to counter sim city in team games than I dont see why allies dont have to do the same against the Lefh. Plus those abilities come in doctrines that are like the best team game doctrines anyways so its not like you are losing anything by going IL2 or Air Supremacy. (You can even recon the entire map as the Commando Doctrine.)

As others have said USFs early game is tricky, especially against OKW who can exploit your early game weakness. Basically the goal is to survive the early game so you can start turning the game into your favor with better scaling infantry and a stronger late game.

Early game I'd recommend keeping squads close together to fight the Strumpio. If the strumpio gets mid to close without taking decent damage than you'll almost always lose that fight unless you have multiple squads.

In most situations I'd recommend LT tier against OKW unless you go Airborne. The 50cal/AAHT are almost vital to surviving the early to mid to suppress OKW's large squad presence. The AAHT can melt the Flak HT and has good suppression and damage that is needed to help your infantry combat his. If you aren't use to microing this unit though it can be tricky and might need some practice. I highly recommend practicing it though as this vehicle is pretty important in the USF roster at the moment. 50 cals are also still great MGs if you got space for them.

Your rifles scale much better into the mid to late than Volks. They have excellent vet and double bars means they can even give elites a run for their money. As others have said I recommend getting Bars or else STG volks will do work on your rifles.

Late game you have excellent AI options in the Scott and the Sherman while also having the best all around TD in the game. Some thing worth trying is Scotts into Jackson. Scotts are wiping machines against infantry.

1. That would be logical 2 years ago, when Panther had good armor and less hp. Now it is a worse Jackson with bad path-finding. They should be identical clones on most things. Panther faster, Jackson cheaper. Same AT-performance. Osthees has PaK40 as benefit to compensate the cheaper Jackson.


2. That is true. Only a campaigne-unit.

The high armor value wasn't really that great against allied TDs, arguably the biggest reason the old Panther was bad was how RNG based it was if a TD penned or not and how low its health value was behind the armor. The health buff gave the Panther much more consistent staying power rather than armor which was more based on if it bounced or not. So technically the armor nerf for a health buff helped the panther against TDs.

Atm, they seem like a waste of popcap, having 4x volks and 1x jli is not better than having just 4x volks and saving the popcap for a useful unit. The stealth and infiltration isn't really useful as it doesn't allow you to flank with them and infiltration is not good as they cant really do anything alone anyway. They seem to lose to everything, if both are in green cover.

All of this is just my personal experience, perhaps there is the same problem with pathfinders as I never see them used either. In two months of playing(almost), I have never seen anyone use either unit. Or perhaps the problem is my lack of skill, but I really like the unit but I can never make them work, I also don't want to use the Breakthrough doctrine instead as I don't like the blob encouraging playstyle.

As sanders said they are getting a vet requirement buff so it shouldn't impossible to vet them up like it is now, should help them a lot in scaling, Also if you manage to pick up a lmg off the ground they turn into pretty good elites. The biggest issue is that this doesn't happen often.

JLI use to get used a lot back when Scav Doc as a whole was good. Now there isn't really a point in going Scav Doc when the Ostwind is meh and there are better options for Elite infantry (Obers or Falls) rather than JLI.

Next patch thats coming next week I think should help them be more relevant. So maybe we will see them more.
