Is there anything that you can do to eliminate sync errors on playbacks? I use the -allowincompatiblereplays but often get sync errors and then the replay usually doesn't work correctly. In: COH2 Bugs |

I played a game today where a Brit player build a trench outside their natural fuel and another by their VP. It did help them for awhile as it took my P4 some time to destroy the trench. It seemed like it took a lot longer to get them out than if they had been in a building. I think Shadowlink's advice is good. The last thing you would want would be to build one by your cut and have your opponent garrison it. Back when the UKF trenches had force fields, I would often see players on Livestreams build trenches by their opponent's cutoffs. In: Strategy Desk |

You'll go round-and-round all day with the theory crafters on this. If you try playing some actual games with Tank Hunters you will discover: Even players with ranking of 1500 usually screen their tanks with infantry when they push. Lots of them buy minesweepers. Infantry of any type reveal PTRS cons easily. Players can recognize the PTRS symbol. Even those 1500 rank players will kite the PTRS cons long enough to hit them with a shell or two, wipe 2-4 models, and force a retreat. Tigers wipe PTRS cons easily. PTRS cons have such terrible AI that they can't protect damaged tanks from Gren squads that are trying to finish off the tank. Players will literally walk right through the squad and not worry about it. Even PGrens with shreks wipe PTRS cons easily. The 180 muni PTAB bombing run is slow, doesn't wipe anything, and does significantly less damage than the 200 muni general bombing run. (Sky insists that it is great and hasn't changed, and will use the lack of anything in the patch notes as "proof" that he's correct. Now go to Youtube and watch the videos of it wiping 3-4 squads or a Tiger and try to convince yourself that it's never been nerfed.) The regular snare from cons has longer range and works better than the AT grenades. The AT grenades are mostly just usable in an ambush. Their range needs to go up. I tried Tank Hunters in some 2v2's last night. It went much worse than when I tried it in some 4v4's as the players were better. I was able to ambush some light vehicles in the early part of games with PTRS cons. I nearly got a Sturmtiger, doing a lot of damage with the AT grenades but lost a SU85 and T34 trying to finish it. Once players lose a vehicle to an ambush it becomes almost impossible to make another ambush. That reduces Tank Hunters to a gimmick that's good only for about 10 minutes of a game. After that, everything in the doctrine is a downgrade from either Mechanized Support or Guard Rifle Combined. In: COH2 Gameplay |

So in 2 test u made it literally at the edge of the map, while for usf u put them near a shoot blocker where u can literally see it blocking and saving the crew (leaving aside u used infantry instead of at gun) The replay that is uploaded had all of the tests. Most of them were done in the center. The two videos of the Fragmentation showed the only area where it's really a problem. I didn't test the clusterbombs at the edge of the map because it doesn't seem directional so I didn't think the timing would change. I realized I probably should've tried it on the edge after I exited, but wasn't going to spend another 30 minutes to test it. You can watch Shadowlink's video to see it as he tested more bombing runs in greater detail using cheat mode. If I really wanted to cherry pick tests, I would use this one where I was able to close on a Vickers, lava nade it, and steal it. PS: Add "thief" to the other charges you've made against me. Please reread my post. I said anything above a Puma. Those are easy to ambush and kill with PTRS cons. I've taken over half health from a P4 with an ambush but would often lose a con if I tried to follow up due to them losing cover. I then don't have anything that can dive and finish tanks after the ambush. Out of the times I've tried them, the only time I managed to kill a P4 was once when I had a teammate with Guards, who buttoned the P4 so it couldn't back up fast enough. Even then, I nearly lost the cons. If it was a stock upgrade, I'd always make one. They're great at snaring tanks. They'd still have some drawbacks including being the only AT infantry squad that loses its regular grenade. In: COH2 Gameplay |

IMHO tank hunter doc could be: PTRS cons lose molotovs, which makes their almost nonexistent AI even worse. They can't button which means they're not likely to kill anything above a Puma and generally less useful than Guards. Not allowing them to upgrade to 7 models means they get wiped easy in late game, especially because they usually have to leave cover to use grenades. Other than camo and AT nades, they're a downgrade. A Guard plus regular con is better. They would need their molotov back and either be able to upgrade to 7 models or button like Guards do in order to be viable. The stealth ability also slows rotation speed. I don't know if this is intended, but it usually means that an SU 85 will not shoot and has to leave cover to rotate fast enough to hit a target. Usually by that time, it is flanked and will be lost. It is a straight downgrade from the camo that the JP4 gets. In: COH2 Gameplay |
