Your infantry is just so much better especially against Wehrmacht where your conscripts basically beats grens in all situations and guards in cover just shred everything, you can even go T-34-76 spam and still be able to kill heavy armor with ram+ IL-2, you can even have a ppsh squad in the scout car at one cp! Oops did i just start a new meta... Nope... Airborne is an all or nothing strategy. You need to win in the early/mid game. If you don't, then forget having any advanced medium or heavy tanks. At the level of the remaining players, there are going to be few 10 minute wins so most players are going to pick something with an IS2 in it, with a smaller group of people going with a commander with one of the KV series tanks or T34/85's. Also, ram plus IL-2 isn't reliable enough that people would want to bet a game on it with $10,000 at stake. It's a lot harder to use it successfully against good players than mediocre or bad ones, and everyone still in the tournament is good. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: 120mm mortars underperform!27 Oct 2019, 02:54 AM Jump back to quoted post27 Oct 2019, 02:09 AMthedarkarmadillo The aoe isn't it's ONLY advantage, it also comes with more range, the barrage is great and it's available regardless of tech in a faction that heavily disuades using the tier that has access to the normal mortar. 270mp would be absolutely too cheap for the 120mm and comparing it to the leig is extremely poor given the 2 units are on opposite sides of the AoE spectrum. You're trying really hard to sell it as a good unit, which it isn't. I compared it to the LEIG because its ranges are the same as the LEIG. The autofire range is 80, the same as every other mortar. The barrage range is 100. It fires every 14-15 seconds instead of every 10. The smaller AOE of the LEIG is more than compensated by its accuracy. I don't know the exact fire rate but it seems about the same as a regular mortar. I get one or two of them in most matches and always get more out of them than I do from a 120. If they're worth 270/7 then the most that a 120 would be worth is 270/7. In: COH2 Balance

Even the description says: "when it hits, it hits hard." No UP situation at all No, not true. The damage was nerfed to be the same as all other mortars. The AOE is larger, but that is the only advantage. The rate is only 2/3 of a normal mortar so it normally gets fewer kills. It does force a decent amount of retreats. The cost and pop cap should be dropped to at most the same as a LEIG (270/7). I watched Crossfire play Pappy O'Daniel (sp?) yesterday. Crossfire's 2 LEIG's got 80+ kills, yet nobody ever complains about LEIGs. Elchino7 is probably right about the vet requirements also. I try 120's once in awhile. It's rare to get them to vet 3. I know, I wasn't even implying that servers use location. I with or against Koreans and Chinese a lot because it usually about 4 AM in Western Europe when I'm playing. My guess is the problem lies within the OP's ISP. I used to have a problem with Century Link DSL. In: COH2 Bugs
Thread: Brummbar OP plz nerf!!!!24 Oct 2019, 20:52 PM I tried a Brummbar in a 4v4 on Red Ball and a KV8 in a 2v2 on Elst last night. The Brummbar didn't get lots of kills (22), but it made it really difficult for the two players on the other side to keep infantry near the front line. It didn't get any 1-shot wipes, but can reliably 2-shot wipe squads if they don't retreat. The only thing I didn't like about it is a couple times I wanted to use the vet ability and fire into the fog of war. If a new unit would come into view, the ability would either cancel or fire at it, which isn't what I wanted. I think it is priced right and doesn't need any buffs or nerfs. The KV8 on Elst got a lot of kills at first, wiping several raketen crews, but ultimately ended up dying to raketens. It doesn't move fast, and really feeds vet to raketens. Its damage against infantry on the move still seems bad compared to a flamer HT. I was really surprised by the 45mm. I got a couple of penetrations against a Panther with it. I'd rather see the flamer part buffed a bit and the AT nerfed. In: COH2 Balance
