Relic stream confirmed that the maxim is bugged and didn't receive the incremental changes it was supposed to. Meaning it will get it's incremental accuracy and search modifiers buffed next hotfix.

Soviets handle MGs just fine imo.
What a lot of people don't get is that an MG42 heavy BO sucks late game. Superior Allied indirect like the new SU76M and the HMC will pick you apart. You also lack fausts en mass, meaning blitzing mediums can subdue AT guns.
The new MG changes do hurt USF, but this is because as an army they simply don't scale and punch under their weight.
the point of an MG heavy strat is to lockdown the map and prevent a lategame though. how effectively it works depends on the players, the map, balance of the units, available options, etc, and may or may not actually be a problem but the whole point of MG heavy stats is to hold points while bleeding as little as possible in order to get late game units out as fast as possible. |
Yeah even though it costs more than a t34/76. The t34 should have an equal chance to kill a p4 as a p4 has killing a t34/76. Ya whoa
um, given that the game has very, very low granularity for tanks that's most likely going to effectively be the case, unless the 34/76 becomes infantry slanted. that would be fine but i haven't heard anything about that. |
I have no idea what texture corruption is in this context.
I click on the game, I see the CoH2 logo, then the screen flashes, then it's black, then crash to dekstop. Takes only a couple of seconds from first boot to crash. I never see the main menu.
Last few drivers/patches the instability was sometimes crashing on boot, but even when it didn't it would constantly seem like it was struggling to attain fullscreen, like it would switch between full screen and bordered a couple of times, flash a few times, then eventually either crash or decide to boot properly seemingly with no rhyme or reason. Then, when in game, if I dared alt tab, it would crash > 75% of the time.
Now I can't even get that far. I have verified the cache, it downloaded a 10mb file, then it was exactly the same and nothing was fixed anyway.
well it's not texture corruption then. texture corruption is kind of hard to explain and i didn't save any pictures but basically the models had exploded verts all over and textures were rendering incorrectly (in a lot of different ways). |
GTX 980ti.
Last patch it crashed a lot when I tried to boot the game.
Now it crashes every time I boot the game. I cannot even get in once.
I already reported major Nvidia instability during the Alpha, Nvidia and Relic really need to sort this one out because it's infuriating. CANNOT PLAY THE GAME. I know two other Nvidia users experiencing various degrees of instability, one on a 770, one on a 970.
are you getting texture corruption or just crashes? you could try opening a thread on the nvidia website but if you don't have any examples i'm not sure it would help. |

I'm asking myself if there is any reasonable explanation for why the Sturmoffizier (OKW Breakthrough Doctrine) is not able to vet? Following the game's logic, this guy should be receiving aura vetting like the command panther.
The vetting system in CoH2 is one of the major improvements compared to CoH1 and it creates this strong feeling of connection to your units, I enjoy a lot (Vet3 Units get named in my games ). Sturmoffizier not receiving any vet, makes me not wanna build him.
Any thoughts on that?

Ostwind is also hard countered by units its supposed to counter namely the zis-gun with guards.. relic pls
the zis is a hardcounter to the ostwind unless it gets flanked. guards are a soft counter that work well against the ostwind in large blobs. enough maxims will also counter it but extremely inefficiently. the ostwind is designed to counter infantry, not AT weapons. |
The Dhsk probably needs to either get better AP rounds or a cost decrease or CP decrease. By no means is it OP, but then again the MG42 could also use a cost increase so *shrug*.
timing wise, all it EVER needed was to be 1cp so it wasn't the first unit built and instantly able to grab a building. 1cp is like 30 seconds into the match which would have been perfect. |
IV got a massive buff quite a while ago which made it massively better than the 34/76 in all aspects. what you're seeing now is the result of those changes. |

"Its because we really didnt want the Maxim HMG to be an attack-move and suppress everything unit. Because of its fast setup and teardown, being able to lockdown a bigger area felt like it could be a little scary. I'm not saying excluding the Maxim was the right decision but we wanted to leave the possibility of that issue out for now and see how this improves all other HMG teams and come back to seeing if the Maxim also could use this. "
that's literally all it is and all it ever has been. idk why they're trying to deny that. maxim spam became a "thing" because people figured out that it worked that way and that you could hardcounter the mg42 (prior too and part of the reason for the RG buff) with the maxim. |
