Thread: Any news on possible upcoming balance patch?20 Nov 2016, 20:12 PM I honestly think the game could be quite balanced with only a few core units in mind. This could have been easily dealt with by a hotfix. The US mortar should be in line with the other factions mortars. Ostheer Panther should get the OKW Panther stats. And Brens and Bars should be limited to one per squad. See how it goes from there. A real patch could then fix all other issues such as underperforming doctrines, Maximspam etc. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Mr. Cancer loses it when he loses it11 Nov 2016, 16:17 PM I actually thought we had lost the game. The replay shows pretty much everything that´s wrong currently with dual Brit cheese. Double mortar pits and of course artillery cover by our friend Paranomia. Later Cromwells into Comets. Somehow we won. I blame Paranomia for it since he lost a lot of AT guns which our troops could pick up. Yet he accused us of abusing the game. Have fun. P.S.:He didn´t wish me cancer this time. If you do (personally I love Lightening War) then I agree simply because I can't stand the resource drain caused by calling in the Tiger Ace. That alone usually prevents me from choosing Elite Troops. The other commander that is good is Mechanized Assault. Exactly. I´m not going to remember the random doctrine names they made up. Thread: Send Your Feedback Directly to Relic4 Nov 2016, 16:01 PM Voted Ostheer Panther as underperforming. I guess I don´t have to repeat the units flaws once again. I like their approach this time. The only problem I see with the idea of asking the community directly is that another person might vote that the Comet is overperforming. Then it might happen that the Panther gets a buff and the Comet gets nerfed and we end up with the balance twisted the other way around, resulting in no better game experience. In: Lobby

G43 - Okay, but I consider them more of an intermediate LMG42 upgrade for less munitions. Stun Grenades - Quite good. Smoke - Excellent. Tiger Ace - A regular Tiger will perform just as well and not cripple your economy. At the time Tigers or the Ace arrive you will ususally have enough fuel. Manpower will be the limiting factor rendering the Tiger Ace essentially useless imo. That being said I consider the Tiger + Kanonen-Stuka doctrine or the Tiger + Mortar HT doctrine way better. The problem is that Axis haven´t got the best units in almost any category any longer. "Best" describes the biggest utility and effect for cost. Best Infantry: Imo it´s dual Bren Tommies Best MG: Maxim Best Mortar: US mortar Best light vehicle: T-70 or Stuart Best Medium Tank: Cromwell Best lategame tank: Comet Best AT vehicle: Firefly Best heavy artillery: Calliope or land matress The only aspects I see an advantage in are AT guns (Pak 40) and Super heavy vehicles such as the KT (which are however easily hard countered). Germans are in fact not competitive this patch. In: COH2 Gameplay

There is something called power creep in this game since wfa though. The Panther is infact the most nerfed unit in the game. I remember patches where: - German Vet 2 tank bonuses were reduced immensely. The Panthers Vet 2 bonues then was cut even further than that of the Panzer IV. - The Panthers base health was reduced and implented into Vet 2. - Blitzkrieg was nerfed. - Vehicle smoke was made more expensive (rightfully so). - Several price changes. The most notable would be the OKW increase to 200 fuel. It´s arguable how the ressource system overhaul compensated for that. Strangely the KT got cheaper despite the greater fuel income. Especially the vet nerf hit the Panther hard. For my taste too hard. With the power creep you mentioned (the increased penetration of all AT units and the introduction of Comets etc.) the Panther can´t compete for cost. The pre nerf Panther might have stood a chance.
