Thread: 5 men commando squad8 Oct 2015, 06:24 AM I like commandos except their insane DPS, at best they should be a bit better than Shock Troops, but as-is, they are better than even a veteran Flaktrack. At the least, their Stens should be devastating only when they are point blank range. Reminds me of Assault Grenadiers pre-several-nerfs ago. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Improving Coldtech8 Oct 2015, 06:23 AM I personally think they should have just slightly reduced movement penalties to deep snow, and either made walking/ driving through them permanently removed, or blizzards restored the deep snow and introduced freezing. That would have made tactical openings interesting- want a path cleared? Get M20/ Kubel/ Scout Car...but do you want to bother if the enemy anticipated that, or do you want to do that later for a surprise and focus on the more obvious clearer pathways? In: COH2 Gameplay

Thread: Possible Brit indirect fire fixes7 Oct 2015, 17:26 PM I'd rather the base howitzers just fire faster with smaller scatter. Smoke grenades should be thrown the same distance as any thrown object, it's just that with the horrible accuracy and scatter radius of the base howitzers, the risking of units to use that munitions-cost ability isn't worth the effort or risks involved. That changes when the results are actually going to do some reliable damage. At time of writing, using it near anything you're fighting is the same as telling your friend to not fire at that fish in the barrel until you've jumped into it first. In: COH2 Balance

On one hand I would agree, but you already have units that can provide smoke cover, including the M8 HMC that can do what you describe. Giving that to Sherman as well would just mean you don't need those units to do that for you...but then again USF is like the most micro-intensive faction in the game. In: COH2 Balance

That means they will go OVER infantry, OVER weapon teams, OVER cover that isn't a garrison, because they can NOT hit the ground. You misunderstand me: When I say the ability can attack ground and not be limited to vehicles, I mean the Tulip ability doesn't require you to target vehicles to fire them. Obviously the intended and most target would be a vehicle or a building, but I've been able to destroy units like AT guns and infantry with them. What this also means s that you can exploit this feature by firing the Tulips at shot blockers to destroy enemy units adjacent to them. I've been able to do this and save my Firefly, or destroy an annoying AT gun through this tactic, a tactic I don't think should exist. In: COH2 Balance
