Thread: HMG "handbrake" mode & manual reload.23 Feb 2019, 15:03 PM I thought we had a "competitive" mod that added such a feature in such as manual reload and also made it so capture points did not block pathfinding. I reckon for HMGs and LMGs a manual reload or possible ability to micro to that extent would simply be another feature we as players could utilize to better beat our opponents. I would welcome more micro abilities to better control my troops. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Ostheer MG/Early20 Feb 2019, 16:15 PM I think the MG42 is by far the best MG in many aspects with the only downside being a long-ish pack up time and team size that is similar to Vikers. Not only does it do the job of an MG (suppress) but it also has the best AOE, best fire arc, best price, amazing Ap rounds, short build time (looking at you maxim), and comes out in t0 So IMO something should change about it or maybe there should be an adjustment to other MGs but I have no idea where to start tbh. I like that its a suppression platform and actually does the job of an MG but the cost effectiveness and limited micro required of it seems a little off... In: COH2 Balance

What annoys me the most is the lack of survivability for all MGs but the Maxim. Seeing BAR, Bren, MG42 blobs walking head on into the MG arc and sniping crew-models while another model is trying to recrew the gun (again and again so that the MG can't fire a single salvo) is bullshit. If that could be fixed it would be a start. Also some anti blobbing assets are underperforming: Namely the MG34 and Ostwind. Most allied MGs hardly pin and suppression still requires loads of micro from the Maxium and .50 for pins. MG42 on the other hand is a 2-3 burst = pin with first volley being a suppress. MG34 is similar to mg42 in its suppression profile if I'm not mistaken. I agree with your point that running up to crew members and just out right overwhelming a supposed inf counter seems.... counter intuitive. In: COH2 Gameplay

Blobbing is sorta like playing coh wrong IMO, cover is the name of the game but in coh2 cover (in my mind) doesn't feel as important is it did in coh1. I know we have loads of tools to counter it and thats nice but at a foundation level cover isn't rly pushed as hard as it should be IMO. Yellow cover out of all of it feels pretty insignificant along with grey cover. Green and red seem to be the only real factors that rly do help squad survival but when you blob it doesn't rly matter as the blob can close the distance and negate the cover anyways. Thread: Upcoming CoH3 installment (Poll)18 Feb 2019, 21:40 PM Jump back to quoted post18 Feb 2019, 21:33 PMadamírcz Good point Gettin a new engine is quite a no-brainer, this inflexible, unoptimized piece of crap will sure not be missed, even though the graphics are impressive They don't need a new engine per say as many engines are 5~10 years+ old (hell COD 4 ran on quake 2 if I recall right) Better engineering is required and a requirement for 64bit should be met to prevent most of the crashing people are getting now. Memory dumps and buffer overflows are a large issue along with an in-effective garbage collector. I still think coh could look better than it does right now especially in their world props and buildings. Their foliage is also static making everything feel ridged. In: Lobby
Thread: Upcoming CoH3 installment (Poll)18 Feb 2019, 21:30 PM both the community and the engine itself needs to get better in terms of graphical capability before I'd argue for a Pacific Theater. The foliage would be pretty burdensome on many computers that haven't changed specs since 2011~. Less we mention the engine itself isn't rly all that well optimized in the particle department and still could look better in many cases. My money is on later African Tunisia with Sicily and mainland Italy being the campaign and focus. Mixed elements from AA expansion will mix into the main campaign with possibility of planes and boat implementation as tile units. What would be interesting would be to have brits be starting faction but IMO US would be the first followed by brits (as per usual). In: Lobby
Thread: Tiger PzKpfw VI4 Feb 2019, 03:08 AM The problem is with the META of AT and mobile AT that make it over-shadowed. The lack of other allied med pen and their reliability being shit often lends allied players to focus/opt to picking a TD rather than just holding onto Med tanks all game. This by no means makes the Tiger I bad but like the IS-2 and Pershing its better to opt for two tanks rather than one in many cases late game. In: COH2 Balance
