Visual language in games is a very important element. Players should be able to identify the threat level of a unit at a quick glance.

The far more deadly T34/85 had a easily distinguishable unique art feature, the fuel tanks on the back, now there is a variant of the 76 with very similar fuel tanks on the back.

This can be confusing, This change should be reverted.

Really?

1) The turret of the T-34/85 is way larger and the barrel is also way larger.

2) When in doubt, click on the unit.

You shouldn't have to click a unit to know what it is.

The overall shapes are too similar. They need clearly defined art features to make them very easy to distinguish.

Nonsense, the difference between units is so obvious. Remove a variety of models because of the blind?

Disagree, one of the best and most immersive features of ths game are its diverse looks. They should go even farther:

Tanks with sandbags, tanks with scratches and bullet holes,
soldiers with or without helmets, backpacks, coats or no coats, bandaids whatsoever. There should be an editor in which you can customize the appearance of your vehicles and squads (like in rocket league)

Relic missed a BIG opportunity there and could have maintained their reputation easily. I'm pretty sure people would have paid a lot of money for stuff like that

In MP games units must be easily recognisable. This was even one of Relics design mantras for the infantry and they should follow suit with vehicles as well.

The problem is here the basic shapes are far too similar.

I disagree, I'm not blind but I often cannot tell which model I am facing from quick glances.

They are quite similar in performance too, what is the problem? I could understand if one was pure AI and other was pure AT. And I dont belive you do deep analyze every time you see a tank

The 34/85 is differently more dangerous and especially engaging with a P4.

+1. Makes perfect design sense. And for people complaining there will be fewer designs; they could, you know, make that version of the T34 actually look different in and of itself and not be a confusing baby t34/85.

Why is there even a different variant? Just a normal T-34 from T4?

Personally don't care. Although you can tell the difference through more than just the fuel tanks, specifically the tread/engine sounds are different for the 85.

I personally think the difference is easily noticable by having a quick look at the turret and gun, but I kinda understand the point.

Then again, the same applies to other vehicles like the Panther and Command Panther, the Stug G and Stug E, the Panzer IV and the Panzer IV Command Tank, all 10 Sherman variants and to some extend the King Tiger and the Jagdtiger. All these vehicles might need a second look to identify the exact type.

Strongly disagree! Their outward looks different enough to recognise, which T-34 you face on the battlefield. Here is two main differents:

1. Different turret (most obvious one)
2. T-34 has square fuel tanks on the rear, T-34-85 has round smoke generator devices on the rear.

In that case, Shermans need to get different hulls too, because now:

- Soviet M4A2(76)
- American M4A3
- American M4A3(105)
- American M4A3(76)

have absolutely same hulls. Their differences (except M4A3(105) cause of dipper) only in turret (like for T-34 and T-34-85).

Also M4A3(76), M4A2(76) and M4A3(76)HVSS have very common outward.

Their shapes are too similar, the fuel tanks made it far easier to tell between them.

The bulldozers used to be very easy to tell the difference and the M8 is a different shape from the regular sherman and the soviet sherman, well in 1v1 you know it is a sherman.

They look completely different for me. A quick glance on a gun is enough to distinguish them.

The real problem is P4 and panther that come in a few different variants that differ visually only in available camos. There are also some units that share unit icon like for example JLI and JLI commander. That should not be the case as well.

But t-34 variants? its as easy as sherman variants.

I don't understand why people are comparing other mediums to this. There are FAR larger changes between for example, the snub nose p4 and long barrel p4. The command p4 not only has 1/4 the length of the barrel but also a different icon that is much easier identified. The t34 differences are far less obvious as seen in OP. The barrel is slightly longer and the chasis is slightly different. It is easily the most similar 2 tanks you can field simultainiously.

Never mistaken the two units. The turrets are the easiest way to distinguish between the two variants.

How is an entirely different turret (and even a bigger gun) less obvious than the gun being the only difference between a regular P4 and a CP4? The T34-85 even has different sounds.

Other mediums/vehicles are a fair comparison. It's just down to personal knowledge to distinguish units based on vehicle model details.
