Here we can see 5 guard models attacking an ostheer sniper. Sniper has somewhere inbetween 2/3 and 3/4 HP.

Guard PTRS deals 27 damage to infantry and guard mosin deals 16.

Sniper was in green cover negating 50% of all damage.

1st guard missed, as no change in sniper HP was witnessed.

assuming next 4 guards all hit simultainiously, they'd deal 27 + 16 = 43 damage. Sniper has total of 82 HP and 2/3 of that is ~54 HP. So what went wrong here?

would say sniper shouldn't be standing there in the 1st place. but yeah, it's kind of weird. is it possible for ptrs to deal reflexion damage thru wall or smth ? maybe the mosin guard dat seemingly do not shot actually shot. i mean, like a graphic bug ?

That ignores accuracy penalty, not green cover damage modifier.

Only fitting explanation I can see is the PTRS dmg modifier got lost somewhere on the way, otherwise it does not make much sense as I don't think snipers have any positive damage modifier from ballistic weapons(as PTRS is ballistic and not small arms despite not really having any projectile).

Maybe it's 'cause the Axis players aren't a bunch of forum crybabies, and they keep their cool and fight the uphill battle, unlike some of their "allied" counterparts.

It looks like 2 ptrs shots connected for full damage simultaneously , not sure why though.

Tested out quickly with a bunch of stuff, something is wonky about the cover wall in that particular spot on the map, it doesn't function at all when you place any squads in those exact same positions, so that sniper is effectively standing in red cover against those guards and just got hit by two ptrs hits.

Point blank ignoring cover means the weapon uses the default cover table entry, ie. both accuracy and damage modifiers are ignored.

Hmm, I though it was just accuracy.
Garrison cover is excluded from that?
I know there was something special about it.

Yeah, garrison cover is not canceled by the point blank mechanic.

The sniper must have been out of cover. The angle was pretty big so its possible game counted it as no cover (flanked). Sniper had 54 hp and got hit by 2 PTRS rounds. Pretty unfortunate, but on the other hand if it lived after staying so close it would be BS as well.
