Why do you say that? They hit harder than conscripts (and I might add work great with conscripts).

Relic saw that RunToTheSun started with 6 Engis and won a game and decided that Engis are not supposed to be main combat units. Just like Pios few patches ago.

Really? Last time I used them they lost to unupgraded Panzerfusilliers, so I tried to pair them up but then Sturmpioneers wiped 'em out. I tried to put them on recrewing duty but their high reinforcement cost made them even bad for that. Before the March Deployment, I loved my Irregulars, but after it they were nerfed harder than anything else.


"This unit can actually do something!"

NERF IT INTO THE GROUND!!!!!

They nerfed the DPS by 2-3, I don't see why it's such a huge deal that they did. Certainly not INTO THE GROUND™ I don't even understand why they did, it hardly seems worthwhile.

Really not sure why the Relic balance team does what it does sometimes. This seems like such a tiny issue in comparison to Walking Stuka and King Tiger running wild, or the SU-76 being a laughingstock unit since game launch.

I don't know, the change is substantial, especially at 20+ range, but I'm not sure if ~1 DPS difference would make or break a CE heavy strat.

They certainly scale better with BARs now. Initially though, I doubt it even with their lower cost.
Considering the number of OKW players, you forgot engineers with LMG34.:D

Ostheer pioneers got nerfed too.... I don't know why they pios and enginners so much. They probaly want to make infantry fights a gren/conscript/rifle-only thing.

Engineer's reinforcement cost was always their full cost divided by 8. So it was 22 when their cost was 180 before this patch.

Actually the LMG 42 they get is different from the Grenadier's LMG 42, it has half the DPS at range.

Ost pios were never supposed to have 100% moving accuracy, so it was a bugfix.

CEs on the other hand got a plain nerf.

Apparently conscripts are in such a deep shit that even CEs outperformed them.

Then the change to combat engineers can be seen as bug fix too. It changed because last patch they altered conscripts in a way that the mosin nagant was better but that conscripts had more increased received accuracy. Since combat engineers use the same weapon as conscripts they got buffed as well but without the increased received accuracy penalty.
Now they changed that engineers have the prepre patch mosin back I think
