Highly unlikely, the community seems to be fine with ahistorical matchups so I dont see any reason why they would be against this.
I guess the reason why Relic probably wont introduce mirror matches in automatch is simply balance.
Preventing cheesy strats and team combinations would be so much harder then

Isnt there a poll for this? I think i saw One á while ago (about mirror matches). But still, i Dont think that there are so many who want that in auto match. How would it work with the ranks? It's just silly!!!

He also told me that Molten Gold has a nasty after taste...
The PTRS's are fine as they are. Whenever i'm up against Guard Infantry, I always have to be careful with my vehicles or the Guards will completely destroy them. Good range, good damage and fairly cheap; if anything, the PTRS should nerfed since it's ridiculously good for the price. Even in the hands of Conscripts, the PTRS's are extremely potent.

tbh im quite patinet with everything bad about coh2: balance issues, dlc, no observer/modding, etc
but the one thing that will make me abandon it for sure, would be mirror matches in automatch. seriously...

Balance is quite OK in 1v1's now. Lots of shit is fixed now in Western Fronts i heard.
DLC isnt that bad.. Also there is a system coming to win DLC stuff in the game (not 100% sure about this)
Mirror matches won't be possible i think. Neither automatch or custom games.. Balance would be completely fucked up. However there would be much more tactics and make the game more interesting.
But there is a 5 year plan for CoH2 and more armies are coming probaly Duffy said.
Give Relic a break, NDA rule sucks balls indeed but they will do an amazing job! Im sure about it.
No, I havent played alpha but I saw a lot of people talking about it on streams.

For the automatch mirror matches won't be allowed because they are immersion breaking.
However I'd strongly support that mirror matches should be allowed for tournaments, since it's more about esports.
Nobody is mad about mirror matches in WC3 or Starcraft, games could turn out really interesting.

I don't mind mirror matches in both custom matches and ranked matchmaking. I've played a lot of Starcraft 2 so it wouldn't bother me since I can just use the rationale that the Ostheer/OKW/US/Russian army that i'm playing against is a rogue unit/brigade.

No mirror matches please in automatch, this isn't SC, let's leave it to custom games. That'd chase most of the players away. But a US vs Sov tourney would be nice as the beginning of the Cold War.
