I had this idea.

And why not mix land battle with naval battle in a Pacific war.

What do you think Relic ? It will be amazing

+1, great idea, we would be able to fit 2 ships on the map with a ladder put between to connect them, so crews could get to each other and fight with their cutlasses!

Maybe it's 'cause the Axis players aren't a bunch of forum crybabies, and they keep their cool and fight the uphill battle, unlike some of their "allied" counterparts.

It is hard to say. Ship battles are too big for the scale of the Company of Heroes. I can only think of this as a game mode. Capturing one or more large-caliber artillery that takes away a bar of durability from the ships. Replaces abstract Victory Points. An analogy for understanding the "Titan" mode in BF 2142. Where it was necessary to capture the missile silos that remove the shield from the Titan.

Ship battles wouldn't fit at all in the game unless they change it drastically. it wouldn't be coh at that point. I voted no.

The idea only goes if you make the maps all sea battle OR all land battle, Combining them doesn't fit the CoH-style. Some campaign maps could be combined (like D-day landing) but not in automatch, mapmaking itself will be very difficult.

I'd sooner vote for some aerial combat units to control (instead of the strafe abilities) but maps have to be atleast 10x as big.

I wouldn't be opposed to a Naval battle mode as an additional mode but not the main part of the game.

it would definately be amazing and make replaying value through the roof. it would not be that hard to implement like everyone is saying. modern or future type setting would be amazing. add air to. dont make since not to have air land and sea in a war game anyways. If they do the pacific they'll have to add a navy component of some kind. Even if it's just smaller landing boats

I said no though, I don't think navy suits CoH. I think the thing that makes the most sense is to start with Brits and Nazis in Africa for coh3, and then expand from there
