Maybe it's 'cause the Axis players aren't a bunch of forum crybabies, and they keep their cool and fight the uphill battle, unlike some of their "allied" counterparts.

I like OP's post, quality post like these a nice to read.
On the SU76 I had this idea for a while. Make it a mini ISU152 (now hear me out).
Make it switch between HE and AP like the ISU152 or the Sherman.
The HE fire in a low velocity arc like the current barrage ability but auto fires (think turretless scot).
The AP fires in in a flat high velocity like the normal shot it does now.
Damage and pen values could be adjusted according to what would be balanced.
This would make the SU76 a more versatile unit while still having roles and clear weaknesses.
Low armor and health, no turret, no machinegun and the ammo swap time would punish over extension and spam.

Ammo toggles are meant to limit powerful general-purpose guns like the ones on the ISU-152 or M4A3. The SU-76 is a cheap unit that shouldn't need one.

Actually I do not want to discuss single stats but about what people think good (light) vehicle design is and why. Do you think the AEC is a well designed vehicle then?

The mini Soviet AT gun has ammo switch, so we already have cheap units with this function in the faction.
