I did watch the video and I still disagree with you, particularly my point about small arms tracers, its a small point but watch the mg42 shoot and you can barely see them. Other than that, I still remember not feeling as positive about it then as I do now. I played it for maybe 50 hours and didn't touch it until a month ago, and am enjoying it more than I did then, so improvements have definitely been made, not the opposite In: COH2 Gameplay |

lol, I implore you to not make an ultimate guide on how to discern between different game engines or the like. The beta was not better, if anything I remember the depressing nature of blizzards stupidly slowing down your troops to a crawl, hilarity of 100% engine/main gun damage from rams and super OP mortars. My most major gripe iirc was that tracers from small arms/hmgs were not as pronounced as vcoh, and explosions didn't seem as cool. So.. I disagree with all your points. In: COH2 Gameplay |
Thread: Napalms impressions of 1v1 game play 15 Mar 2014, 04:50 AM
1v1 is by far the most rewarding game-mode in all CoH. I wish more people would give it a try, but I understand the fear of it. Definitely. I used to play team games all the time in vCoH then eventually "graduated" into playing 1v1s almost exclusively. Games are a lot more tense and the success of the match hinges solely on you and your opponents ability. There is no one else to lay the blame on but yourself if you lose a match. Its the purest form of self-improvement you can get in this game, and any other RTS for that matter. I too wish more were playing 1v1, it could be a lot more fun facing a wider variety of opponents and strats. But I understand where this "fear" comes from, to be honest I remember thinking 1v1s were boring with literally half the action going on but its much more fun than team games imo. In: COH2 Gameplay |

There are a few free commanders I could pick and choose and solely play every game and do just as well as using the paid DLC commanders. Yes its fucking annoying and its a scummy business practice that Relic/Sega chose to go with. Yes its infuriating that all the DLC commanders cannot be unlocked through gameplay, like all other free to play models. What isn't infuriating is playing against those who are using said paid commanders. Now that tiger ace has been balanced out, there isn't really any commander that makes me sick to the stomach that its being used. I recall one game where I first encountered the doctrine and the opponent simply attack move'd his tiger ace into my base and won . I would argue, even before the Tiger Ace nerf, it still wasn't a pay to win commander, it was extremely hard to face the Tiger Ace but it was still beatable. No offense to those who made the claim but those who were claiming it was p2w probably weren't even facing people who could use it to its full potential anyway. There are several commanders that could use some balancing, either make them all better or bring some of the more useful commanders (advanced warfare commander) back in line with the rest of the line up. As for the commanders giving players an in game advantage? There are a few questionably good abilities but all in all nothing as ridiculous as the tiger ace call in previously was. Its down to player decisions and micro now. Oh and don't forget the RNG god. If you haven't made your sacrifice before your session of play, good luck. e: oh and soviet industry had a lot of complaints, I hadn't enough experience with the game at the time to comment about it In: Lobby |
Thread: Panthers and IS2s12 Mar 2014, 11:00 AM
I don't feel so bad now, even Jesulin can't keep Ostheer squads alive long enough to make an impact. There was no stuka bomb before the kv8 came out, just saying, lol. So you kept watching, but whatever it means nothing. Jesulin's first gren squad died from a well placed demo charge. Down to 1 man and fighting a conscript squad, instead of retreating, he chose to try and bait the conscript squad it was fighting into his FHT, instead it ran into a demo and died. His pgrens died on retreat to a well micro'd T70. The fact it took out all 4 models within that many volleys is a matter of RNG. I don't see how it was any different to a well micro'd M8 in vCoH that could often do the same. It could have been prevented had he positioned a gren squad in the center and used it as a screener to faust any fast t70, or an earlier pak. The last gren squad you refer to died in the center on retreat, running on negative cover, with 2 men left, cruzz already had 3 squads advancing into the center. A lot of players predict retreat paths and do this all the time. I mean all of these were normal deaths, kudos to cruzz for the well placed demo and well micro'd T70 blocking the pgrens retreating. I don't see anything unusual, these were pretty standard deaths. What are you complaining about exactly? ![]() I will agree that the kv-8 is pretty lulzy, I think in one full burst of flame it immediately annihilated a gren squad. The IS-2 as we all know has ridiculous AoE and the small ost squad sizes with their strange tendency to bunch up, combined with crazy aoe damage from one IS-2 shell results in some unfair squad wipes. For its price though, perhaps its worth it, considering the time it comes out in a match. I wouldn't complain if it was toned down. All that bull shit aside, cool match! wow im bored. fuck this game In: Replays |

Thread: Ultimate guide to further improving coh211 Mar 2014, 21:32 PM
This. Kudos to you OP for recognizing there is a problem in all of these areas but your reasoning/explanations are just not that good. So far from reading this thread, I am really liking the idea of PPSH's being a global fuel upgrade like BARs was. I also really like the idea of AT nades/Fausts being a sure thing. It is extremely annoying/demoralising for your at nade/faust to fail due to RNG. I can accept the fact that I screwed up by allowing my tank to get close to infantry disabling my engine when I can easily kite, what I cannot accept is that its all decided by RNG. There has to be a compromise how much luck is in this game, I think this is a good place to start. edit: Possiblity of SVTs being a global upgrade for cons? Not necessarily the entire squad receiving SVTs, perhaps 3 models like PPSH. This could allow the soviet player to decide between upgrading long range or short range dps of cons. Penals would probably have to be changed so as to not make them obsolete if this was introduced. (even though in their current form they kind of are) In: COH2 Gameplay |

T34-76s totally not suicide units.
