The panther is lost it has no real place. It needs a proper role. It should be a better version of the panzer 4 with good ai or have 0.75 moving accuracy so it can effectively do what it's supposed to be doing at the moment which is chasing down enemy tanks. It does have extremely clear role. That role does -NOT- include going up against dedicated TDs and winning, unless you flank. You being utter garbage player and incapable of utilizing that role does not mean it hasn't it. Also, you'd fail just as hard with M36, so what's the difference for you? If you'd like SU-85 more then panther, then I've got a briliant advise for you: Don't spam panthers and build that JP4. In: COH2 Balance

Lets take away 320 health from it, halve its armor, remove MGs and there, panther of your dreams, hell you can even have a cost reduction after that(aka axis M10, which you probably consider OP AF too). To put things on perspective, grens are 4 man squads and are as balanced as constripts that are 6 man. %50 more than the other. If that doesnt tell you that some soldiers were better than others... CoH does not have to be historical accurate but what it has to respect the words meaning. Multiplayer officially happens in 1944-45. By that time soviet army was incomparably more experienced then german one as soviets had battle hardened veterans, while germans literally threw at them anyone and everyone who wasn't a woman and was able to hold a gun or panzerfaust. If you want to go by historical accuracy, axis troops should be weakest and least experienced, because all the elites and ones who made it out of previous war are DEAD. Conscripts are called conscripts exclusively for campaign sake, for historical sake, they are as elite as grens or better strelky. In: COH2 Balance

Being forced into guard/shock doctrines just to be able to compete is bad. Actually, current penals are result of soviets not having anything reliable at long range and cons being completely impotent without any kind of offensive upgrade. Late game upgrade doesn't do anything for early game, therefore its still not viable to use them in early as mainline, so you get them exclusively if you go for ppsh or svt. In: COH2 Balance
