I'm pretty sure that their bonus accuracy vs retreating units got removed ages ago.
It never got removed, just decreased.
Maybe it's 'cause the Axis players aren't a bunch of forum crybabies, and they keep their cool and fight the uphill battle, unlike some of their "allied" counterparts.

the thing is post patch combined arms is a thing and it is not infnatry blobs anymore so that why i say obers suffer becasue they should be good at what they do killing infy and with current price they are not worth it and the 50 muni lmg upgrade also reduces their impact when hitting on field They ARE good at killing infantry. If they weren't that much of an issue, they wouldn't be nerfed. They were extremely durable, 4 men sniper squad. One LMG burst, one kill. StGs were just slightly weaker at range, but would wipe anything in close range, shocks included(if they were approaching to them). StGs also ignore cover, which is useful as long as the cover is used in coh2. There isn't anything unjust about nerfs obers got. They still perform fine(last time I used them was last night, had no problem racking up kills, they still murder anything and everything from vet2 onwards). In: COH2 Balance |

Its not only axis's problem also allies have same problem, my mate lost all his units after retreating to base in 2v2 match. Axis howitzer starts fire after another barage ends something like no cooldown time. And i couldn't do anything with my t34/85 commander :/ Divebomb and boming run works against it. Important lesson we hope he learned from that scenario is: Do not blob and mass retreat. And yea, ost howi cooldown was never fixed, so you can pretty much constantly barrage with it. All those 300hp/entity allied infantry will now survive when axis one will be dead! So the LeFH is only for area denial? Uh, I can do that a lot cheaper than 600 manpower. Yes it's good for breaking up campy players but it pales in comparison to the destructive power of the ML-20. Area denial is one of the roles of arty. It does it well. And as I've said, not everything on axis side muse be superior to allied counterpart. This argument had been pretty dead in the water since they buffed Soviet stock army. What units Axis has that are better are better because they cost more to make. They brought up in line one unit, buffed 2 lights and reduced cost of of one med tank. Thats not a buff of stock army, since most of that stock army is still well behind axis counterparts. Snipers, main ingantry, AT gun, mortars, all of that is inferior. Though seeing that inferior allied counterparts may indeed spoil you and make you feel entitled for all axis units being superior. Well, they are not. Axis have better units that can fight directly, soviets have better indirect fire, excluding mortars. Again, asymmetrical balance, deal with it. In: COH2 Balance |

Certainly not the fanboys looking for supremacy of every single axis unit over allied ones, even if its against the common sense and logic. Allies don't make use of large amounts of defensive positions (almost all allied defensive abilities revolve around area denial using explosives instead of actual bunkers or troops) so large amounts of saturation is meaning less because the enemy will just move all their shit away after the first few shells hit. But they need to cap points like any other army and use bases you can bombard 24/7 with LeFH for free squad wipes. The LeFH can shoot a lot! But that's useless unless there is actually shit to shoot at! Either the ML-20 needs to be brought down to the level of the LeFH or the LeFH needs some distinct advantage that matters like being cheaper to make. Base saturation, denial on critical points, allies still use weapon teams and defend positions, which arty can clear/scare off just fine. Why would it need a distinct advantage? As I've said, not everything made by germans was superior. The ZiS gun barrage does only 80 damage compared to the SU-76's 120. It still have worse scatter and 3x longer cooldown. ....it cost's munitions to barrage with a Jadgtiger (which only fires a few shells and does 40 more damage than an SU-76 barrage.) Since reading is hard, let me write again: Another reason, not a single vehicle with default barrage option have a cost attached to it, which only makes it consistent. Last time I checked, JT didn't had barrage as default skill, but a vet one. obviously doing 120 damage which can easily 1 shot or kill a squad with a direct hit for free on a mobile fast platform is just preforming low. AI barrage kills infantry, confirmed OP. More news at 11. Unless you bunched up and were killed with first shot, there is NO reason or way that anyone with most basic awareness would be touched by the barrage. none of those things also can fight enemy heavies, mediums or most armor in general. like why would you even compared a dedicated artillery vehicle to a TD. Sturmtiger can. Also, SU-76 is a hybrid of AT gun and dedicated artillery. Just like it was used historically. It can do both, but for both there are better options, katy got much better barrage, SU-85 while bit up atm is much better TD. In: COH2 Balance |
