That would introduce fragmentation to the automatch pool, which means longer wait times and less balanced matchups in general for everyone, especially people who don't opt for faster games at the expense of balanced matches. And honestly, no regular player is going to opt into getting destroyed by someone far better than them, which is what an option like this would essentially be. Call me crazy but I never care or cared about losing. I remember getting crushed for like 3 straight years in coh1. When you lose, yeah it sucks initially, but there is a lot to learn from losses, more than wins. I doubt any of the guys in the top 1v1 didn't have their fair share of getting shit on. They probably worked hard to get where there at. Now we get to read public announcements about people not playing till the game is 'fixed'. There are custom games if people are really concerned about playing games in a vacuum, but I selected matchmaking ladder for a reason. In: COH2 Gameplay |

But that still negatively affects other players by making it more likely that they experience an imbalanced matchup. Scaling is already in place to expand your pool of potential matches as your queue time increases. Accelerating that scaling artificially would screw up the balance of equal matches vs. queue times that's built into the algorithm. Even if it matched us with other 'fast' search players? By selecting fast search you would basically be forfeiting a balanced approach. Either way it looks pretty grim, guess ill just keep playing arkanoid while I wait. In: COH2 Gameplay |

Yeah and that was kind of the crux of my post. Whats the point in waiting 10+ minutes when the games are generally not competitive anyway. Halo had an option where if you didn't want to wait for a balanced game you could speed the process up. Coh2 doesn't have the playerbase to warrant this so we may as well skip the waiting time because those teams with similar skill aren't going to magically appear. We wait the 10+ minutes just to get put in an unbalanced game. As far as the first part of this post I couldn't agree more. Its not my fault if you play a team game with the thought that its all for fun and expect everyone to shelter your feelings. If you want to win - play comp stomps or custom, not in a team ladder game mode. In: COH2 Gameplay |

For the record, I was talking about allies, but waiting as axis as well. The 10 minutes is a waste because 99% of the time its not finding a balanced match anyway. So why the wait, why not just let us play with the next available group. Kamk, it doesn't make sense to punish teams for playing well together. Losing is part of the game and its also a great learning experience for those who may not have as much experience. If you are worried you are going to get stomped then I think the onus is on the player, not the other teams. In: COH2 Gameplay |
