For clarity, You are correct. The majority of Coh3 players are happy with a barely functioning game. That is my point exactly. Coh3 will never be a great game because the moron player base will not require it.
This game is only partially functioning. UI is missing important elements. Menu system is trash. And what did the idiots ask for????? Leaver Penalties.
Why ask for a functioning game when you could ask for a mechanic that will drive away an already dwindling player base? How many top players are going to sit thru a trash game when their partner is a noob or even when the enemies are noobs? BORING AS F**K games. Now you have people going AFK in games. Which is even worse than leaving. And those people will be banned soon, making the player base even smaller.
if you have been to the Relic Discord or Reddit, you will know how completely dumb Coh3 players are. And they are the bulk of the player base. So Relic has to listen to their wants.
Every effort will only be as good as the least common denominator. For Coh3, that is glue eaters.
MY REASONS
I am not a top player. All I want is visible kill counts and a working menu system and I would be happy.
Kill counts so when I watch streams I can see WTF is going on.
Polished Menu System so people playing the game dont feel like it is a broken ass beta at best. I am looking for the absolute bare minimum. But Relic cant do it. They never have and never will.
Coh1 - Shit menu system.
Coh2 - Better.
Coh3 - Trash at first, now much better. But still broken and half assed.
I am just asking for the shit that should have been done in 2018 to actually be done in 2024, 14 months after release.
why were the things you describe possible 15 years ago but not now? |
But how can it still be so hard? With all the modern tools and engines available?
Look at manor lords --> a single dude makes it and it looks incredible.
It should be a fraction of expenses and work compared to 2006 |
Coh always stood out with its vivid battledield atmosphere.
it's the only game i know where models behave realistically. Reloading, seeking cover, ducking, proning, giving handsigns etc.
how come there hasn't been a single game who copied that?
it's the first thing i'm thinking about a modern RTS should have... |
Pretty sure COH1 had no indicator for 57 buffs PE units had through upgrades and vet.
And still it worked |
tbf coh3 has a lot of buffs/status effects that didn't exist in coh1.
There was no
- increased sight range
- increased dps while in cover
- increased capture speed
in coh1 just to name a few
then what about the coh2 system? they had all these too and it worked |
The battlefield-UI or how you wanna call it in CoH3 is one of the worst I have ever seen, a bunch of symbols floating above units, making the screen cluttered and 0 explanation as to what these buffs do
but the coh1 system worked perfectly. and that was 18 years ago.
why did they change it? |
Good suggestions OP |
Usually combined arms and smoke |
Keep in mind that CoH3 is based off of DoW3, which if I remember correctly didn't have a lot of the older normal features so they've had to port a lot of things from CoH2 which of course means that not everything made it for one reason or another.
But you would assume athat a newer Engine ist more flexible. Exactly for that reason to not have the same problems like older versions. So why it is so hard to implement something like a "give up" button with an newer Engine which should be aware of the features already existing |
Relics recent post stated that the people wanted more maps and battlegroups.
well guess what? 2 maps for a gamemode
do they really need a survey for that? serious question. what is the problem?
also why are features like surrender button missing that were present in coh2?
ist this some software development problem? Or management problem?
as a rookie i would assume:
sequel software = old software + new features
but more often the not
sequel software = old software with less features
