Yeah great reasoning. it's OP but it's not an insta-win unit either. And it IS also very vulnerable. That doesn't make it balanced, but the thing dies to 1 tank shot and is very cumbersome. On some map, it's very possible to track down and destroy, depending on opponent's skill. It needs nerfs. That is beyond question. What it doesn't need is to be hit so hard with the nerfbat it sinks into irrelevance once again. Arty in general needs to be looked at, honestly. Rocket artillery currently dominates the meta by being mobile and tremendously powerful, while most howitzers save the B4, and even then, are barely ever built because they are too cumbersome, easy to avoid and easily destroyed. Even after the buff, the 480 MP US pack howie still barely tickles the enemy, for example. Howitzers should be the more powerful but immobile ones, rocket artillery needs a nerf across the board for being way too easy to use and way too potent in general. In particular it needs a range and damage decrease IMO. Ironically I described Stuka and you think this would be an over nerf? Interesting. In: COH2 Balance

On the subject: From my experience I don't have problems with Maxims being too durable because their counters can counter them quite well. 120mm Mortar and ZiS are different because Mortar can pack itself and retreat and ZiS even when flanked can take multiple tank shells and provides green cover as well (if I am not mistaken) so clearing it with infantry takes time. That's why I came out with the idea of leaving Maxim as it is and only adjust ZiS and Mortars. In: COH2 Balance

There are chokepoints or obvious retreat points in many maps, like, say, the roads on semoisky and kholodny. So is isn't hard to predict these and wipe them, especially if you fire it behind a unit taking damage in a fight. Outside of a fight, sure you can move to the side to avoid it, but when you're fighting sturmpios, or any strong okw unit you can't afford to delay your retreat. Also losing squads for SU isn't just a minor inconvenience. If you lose your vetted conscripts or penals or guards, what are you gonna do with vanilla scripts against vetted okw or even obers ? You don't need to predict anything with Katyusha. You place your targeting circle and stuff dies. You can repeat this after a while or you can build another one and add to the injury. You don't need to come as close as with Stuka as well. In: COH2 Balance

I didn't understand your statement/ question. Never mind. Maxim is fine. ZiS and 120mm Mortar for some reason are made of titanium or something similar as they tend to take much more beating. I would change these, leaving Maxim intact. I would change so support teams can't cap to kill two birds with one stone and resolve the issue with Maxims over performing when spammed. In: COH2 Balance

Matchup against veeeery terrible Soviet player who achieved nothing and was pushed back really badly. It would have been base lock down if it wasn't for his Katyusha spam to bring him back. Katyusha costs less, have bigger damage, bigger AoE radius, destroys base buildings and medium tanks and it shoots almost twice as often. If in your fanboy minds Stuka was OP as hell (hence the cry I assume?) than according to YOUR logic Katyusha is OP as well. If, again according to your own logic, Katyusha is fine now then Stuka was never OP in the first place and you were simply lying. In: COH2 Balance
